Is it a strength? Houston is the best distributor off half back in the game, phenomenal kick. Who’s does that at Collingwood now Daicos plays permanent mid? I reckon it is a fantastic get if he lobs there. Key forward still an issue yes, but they ain’t that easy to find.

I think the benefit for you in potential Daniel and Macrae trades is as much about relatively large salary cap savings for fringe players as much as it's about the pick. But I can see why you're putting up some resistance.

It's hard to know what their salary actually is, as best as I can find, I believe Macrae is on around 600k for the remaining 3 years of his deal. It's high next year, but low the final 2 years, whilst Daniel is on around 650k for the remaining 2 years.

I agree that it's impractical having those sorts of salaries in the VFL, but unless we're filling the pinch of the salary cap there's no real reason to trade them out for anything other than overs (given they're contracted). Next year we've got a few coming out of contract so who knows.

Last year was boring as anything, but at least we knew going in it was just going to be a bunch of role players changing clubs. It had been telegraphed for months.

This year, there's actually a huge group of big games who are being held in limbo for some manufactured final day trading frenzy.

It'll work, as we're all going to tune in...but it makes the 8 days prior feel so pointless.

That Dogs guy in the Smith thread who's wrote 56 essays in the last week for a deal that hasn't even gone through yet sums up where we're all at with this.
