Good news. Reasonably priced too.

I have to say crowded house was a tad dissapointing on wednesday night :( There was an entire set they did in the middle of their most recent recordings you could say, now I didn't have a problem with this and thought it wasn't half bad but most of the crowd had no idea what they were on about as I'm guessing it must have have only just been released (I'm not exactly sure haven't looked in to it yet) and they lost alot of crowd involvement in the show that they built up in the first half of the gig,a few good sing alongs with mean to me,better be home soon etc however maybe not fully worth the $90 i was sent back for the tic. Other than that not a bad show and Neil definately still has it :thumbsu:

Not sure if any of our BF posters live in this part of the world, but I note that Saturday 20th of December sees the (FREE!!) festival, Freakscene, at Lakes Entrance.

Headlined by the magnificent Magic Dirt and BF's own Timothy Rogers Esq.

Also featuring The Nation Blue, theredsunband, Garth Liddiard (The Drones), Matt Bailey (The Paradise Motel), Paper Planes, Sons Of The Sun, Midnight Woolf, Modular Lounge, Crystal Thomas & The Flowers Of Evil, and Dane Certificate.

Fair hike for us Melbournites, but if the weather's good, could be worth the trek. The price is sure right.

I'm looking forward to a great double bill at The Corner tomorrow night - The Datsuns + Black Diamond Heavies.

Black Diamond Heavies - Stitched in Sin/Way Down in the Hole (crap quality video but the music sounds great)

The Datsuns - Motherf*cker From Hell (classic Datsuns)

The Datsuns - Stuck Here For Days (more modern Datsuns)

Also next Sunday there is some fine entertainment on at The Tote - Hugo Race and The Wreckery supported by Sand Pebbles.

The Espy has a great line-up on New Years Eve

Spiderbait
The Mess Hall
Children Collide
Kill Devil Hills
Tame Impala
Little Red and more.

Just bought my ticket to Cradle of Filth at The Palace (formerly The Metro), 26th May next year. Will probably sell out fairly fast so if you're interested, get tickets soon.

I hope you're taking the Wizard of Filth (he needs some musical edumecation)

I couldn't even get that musical philistine to listen to one Nine Inch Nails song in my car. Dani Filth and co are a bit out of his league.

More Zondor's league methinks.

Here's one for Easter.

Boogie 3 at Tallarook featuring Tony Joe White, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Dan Aurbach (The Black Keys), Even and more.

There are only 500 tix available - more info at www.boogie.net.au

Should be loads of fun!

Thought I'd bring this thread back to life as I enjoy glancing through it once in a while at Lidge's Lounge...

Well I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the living legend Leonard Cohen skip on and off stage for 3-4 encores. The golden voice is still working brilliantly even at his age. Once in a lifetime opportunity and a great experience.

On the local scene I saw An Horse at the Northcote Social Club and think they could be headed for good things. One of my favourite bands on the local scene. Some really identifiable neurotic lyrics. The drummer is also good... he's on the angry pills.

For the future, looking forward to catching the Deathcab for Cutie gig coming up. Hope Mr. Gibbard brings along his girl Zooey Deschanel either to sing with or just as some eye candy.

I also caught a little bit of Leonard Cohen on Thursday and he was in amazing form. Unfortunately us photographers were only allowed in for one song.

Last night Primal Scream put on an amazing show at Billboard - here are a few of the show stoppers.

Swastika Eyes

Country Girl

Rocks

Accelerator (the finale that Bobby Gillespie dedicated to Rowland S Howard)

And I'm really looking forward to Gentle Ben and His Sensitive Side at Roxanne's Parlour on Friday night.

Some good stuff coming up including Of Montreal, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Biffy Clyro, Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), The Fratellis, M83, The Kills, Mercury Rev, Ratatat, The Stray Cats, and one person I'm definitely going to see - Robyn Hitchcock.

Best of all.....Okkervil River !!

......and Mogwai !!

A hearty woo-hoo to that.

The Of Montreal crew are really top people. :thumbsu:

Will have to get my ticket for Okkervil River sorted.

I hear Men Without Hats are playing at The Dallas Brooks Hall in October this year. Other than Safety Dance, what other songs did these clowns ever sing? I might take my `Keep North South' plackard & wave that around on the night while wearing a Karate Kid Headband & my Hulk Rules singlet.
