Has put her face into politics in a big way telling the Labor gov what to do to solve the housing and cost of living problems.
Funny how she and Clive, yes ,that Clive, is there any other, you know him as the Yellow peril,shoved their weight around on platform around Australia when the WA Labor government was trying to get the Mining Tax passed. A tax that would have given a sheet load, a bucket load of money to keep Austrlai in the black.
But she and the other ample one, was very busy banging the drums that it was not fair.
Me thinks the fame from the painting has gone to her head.

Those billionaires control some form of social media though. Not sure Rinehart is smart enough to get into that sphere, easier to ride on her inherited coat tails and plunder natural resources. Never seen her engage in public discussion either, just host parties and rant on the back of a truck with a megaphone. Would love to see her before a senate committee being grilled. Not sure she's into grilled though, seems more a batter aficionado...

Rinehart is already a big financial contributor to the IPA though and while she doesn't have social media control she just has direct lines to politicians instead and flies them around on her private jet and gives them award money for being champions of industry.

Overall while Rinehart is a soft campaigner who sooks if anyone dare criticises her, she's closer to Thiel than Musk.

I wasn't sure where to post this, as it is fundamentally about greed and stupidity, the Gina thread seemed a perfect match. It is a report looking at progress on 80 economic, social and environmental targets in Oz. Gina and her top 1% own 24% of the wealth, in the US the one percenters own 35% of the US wealth. The report talks about a number of other measures of societal health and it's a mixed bag in terms of results.

She's a shrewd and successful businesswoman but also self serving and a bit of an arsehat like most in that position.

Too many people are like siths dealing in absolutes though, very few people are totally evil or completely good.

I think animal welfare is something she’s big on. A real leftie mate of mine who’s heavily involved in native animal welfare in Newman won’t hear a bad word about her. Really surprised me having known him for decades
