thanks for that
someone at work knows someone that lives very very close to that area that was mentioned
he asked them about it via facebook or a text im not sure which and they said that there was a certain older couple out there in a town that was always thought of as creepy, a few things were mentioned and they confirmed that children were told not to hang about in a certain area by parents
the airstrip was talked about as was the old mr whippy van that had a mattress in the back

****ing sickos

I'd assume if there was some inkling the bones were children and 30+ years old it would have leaked by now. But you never know. It's close to where the Beaumont kids went missing.

Hmm ... hadn't seen that bones on golf course at West Beach story before ... yes - close to area of Beaumont abduction.

You'd think if anything there would be a follow up. I'll tweet Frank Pangallo from Adelaide's today tonight ... see if he knows more?

edit- Frank says 'could be aboriginal bones' ????...

The guy who owned the mid /north SA property now linked to a Prospect house.

Could fresh leads finally lead to the solving of the 1973 disappearance of Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon from Adelaide Oval? New info puts a key suspect at the ground on the day of the crime and links him to an abandoned Prospect home with an underground bunker. Read the latest developments here.

It's quite interesting/disturbing when you dig a little deeper at the relationship between so many people involved in this case and related cases.
the 'investigators' are digging into these relationships.

...and Von Einem is probably linked here too?

]What's the significance of the 'investigators' getting quotation marks? They seem to be making some progress, wouldn't accuse them of not really trying, it is 40 years ago after all?

nothing really other than as far as I'm aware the investigators are not official investigators... ie not cops etc.

As a former South Australian, yes, these two girls are second only to the Beaumonts in SA child crime history. Find a Grave is wrong - Kirste Gordon's middle name was Jane not Anne - it's in the contemporary newspaper reports. It's really disturbing that the police think Ratcliffe and Gordon were r*ped as well as killed by the monster that took them. There's a special place in hell for a man who would rape and kill a girl that was little more than a toddler. Not that raping and killing the 11 year old was any different.

BUMP
I wonder why this doesn't get the sort of publicity that the Beaumont Case does, despite being just as shocking and also involving young children
The cynic in me wonders if it's because it would tarnish Adelaide Oval's reputation

I mistakenly thought that their bodies had been found, but on reading again last night, learned that it's a cold case too
Many of the suspects in the Beaumont Case are suspects in this case
:'(

The Beaumonts were the first case like it AFAIK, at least since television began here. Don't be cynical, be heartened that these cases still live on in people's hearts and minds even if the children themselves are long gone.

The Beaumonts is just such a unique case with three siblings absolutely disappearing into thin air, I think that’s what it is. If abduction is a parents worst nightmare then 3x that is unspeakable. I think the ex detective said it’s one of the most unique cases in the world.

Isn't that the same as this, except only 2?

Kirstie Gordon and Joanna Ratcliffe werent siblings so whilst i'd never down play the grief experienced by the relatives of either, the pain the Beaumonts experienced in losing their 3 children is on another level altogether.
Fair enough :thumbsu:

I read a article from Hayley Dodd's sister recently over losing her and how it has destroyed her families lives and that's 1 person disappearing. Christ losing all 3 of your children is unthinkable pain.
