Just had a look at our leading goal kickers for the year.

Joint leaders are Bryce Gibbs and Matthew Wright with a whopping 18 goals average 0.9 goals per game)!!

Our full forward, Levi, is only one goal behind with the same imposing average of 0.9 goals per game.

Oh for the days of Sticks, Jezza, Fev, Eddie

Good luck SOS.

At least SOS can kick straight. Massive advantage. Curnow looks like an OK set shot but a long way to go. We also lack a goal sneak.

SOSAJ has brilliant vision and seems quite difficult to bring down. Looks amazing and can kick a goal from long-range.

Curnow has the advantages of skill his older brother isn't known for, and he certainly knows how to crash packs and provide a lead, the only thing that he needs to work on is what was easily noticeable before he got injured and that was holding onto a mark.

McKay might be a little further away but given his height, there is no risk in improving his versatility and moving him into the middle as an emergency ruckman (in case one gets injured). But he knows how to kick for goal and seems to have a fairly good ball-drop (which he will continue to make better).

jack charlie & harry. maybe tomlinson & stewart. gorringe could be a handy fwd/ruck. like to see kerridge as small forward and as midfield improves murphy cripps & gibbs. gallucci unknown. sumner an option and dare i say it? ainsworth. things can change quickly especially with a dominant midfield

Vickery is an accurate kick.
If I could downvote this, I would.

Doesn't matter how good a kick a bloke is if he doesn't get the ball, cracks the shits to the same degree as our current FF, and folds under pressure to miss clutch goals.

We've had a big crack at drafting forwards, just need them to come on. I think we'll likely keep bringing forwards into our list though the midfield's future is looking a little bleak as well. Plenty of work to do. I think we stuffed up at the selection table not playing that extra tall forward like Jones who has averaged the most goals for us. Had he played most of the games I don't doubt he'd be our top goal kicker. Forwards take plenty of time to come good usually, good we are getting young ones in early and the early picks will help with that. Should be a few years yet of early picks and hopefully father son selections coming through which might bolster things up there. wouldn't mind us chasing a small forward with our later picks, not sure any of the ones on our list are much good.

I have been thinking the same thing all year.
We will be lucky to get a player that kicks 20 for the year let alone one that averages 1 goal per game! :(

Nothing a gun FF, gun CHF and jet small forward won't fix!!

In all seriousness we really need a minimum 30 goals each from 3 forwards. Plus 3 midfielders kicking 20 each. When that comes we will be more competitive.

Who on the forward line can/will kick that many next year?

SOS and Charlie are going at about a goal a game. If they both play a full year, continue to develop then I reckon they could kick 30 each.

Take a gander at the stkilda-richmond replay and you will not be as angry about casboults goalkicking . The set shot goalkicking in that game and competition wide is atrocious .

As much as I liked his first half of the year, I am disappointed that Kerridge has not been used in a more attacking role this year.
I can't even remember the last time he didn't drop one?
