Going to the footy alone...

I choose to go alone, I meet friends at the bar pre/half and full time.

You will find me standing alone, beer in hand, listening to Levi pre game today in the Victory Bar.

Come say hi, I'm larger than the average NMFC fan and easy to spot!

I went alone to all bar 2 games last year including the long trip to Geelong. Being a reserved seat helped as I sat with the same people who didn't mind my drinking and cheering :p now I've got my mrs signed up so we "spend some quality time together" :p

efa in bold.:)

Going to the footy alone is fine if that's the way it is. It's probably not a good idea to be shouting and hollerin' too close to the opposition cheer squad though.

If I do go to games alone, I tend to attempt to engage those around me in light-hearted banter.

If they do not wish to participate, it turns into strong-hearted banter, leading into full-on abuse because they are Collingwood supporters.

I don't mind going on my own but generally take the kids , the dog goes every week but disappears at the gate each home game(true story) . There will be a number of alias memberships going through this week . Everyone should come everyweek, imo all this crowd numbers bullshit is media driven in the end it is about watching our team play and hopefully winning.
Go The Mighty Roos

What are people's opinions?

My mate has piked again, and my girlfriend doesn't want to go two weeks in a row.

(this is one of the areas where following a club with few supporters is a negative)

Get a new girlfriend....

I go by myself most weeks. I sit in reserved seating, so am getting to know the people around me. Usually have a chat to the old bloke who brings his wife every week.

I dont mind it. I find when I'm watching with someone else I end up talking to them, or spend half the time getting up to buy a beer, so by yourself is sometimes better. Sometimes I take a radio, sometimes not, but I always take a paper to read in on the train.

Old Bloke?

I'm not talking to you again

I've been going to the footy alone since I was 14. Only been the last couple of years since I turned a Bomber and my other Bonber supporter mate bought Platinum memberships that I have had mates to go with reguarly.
