From what I've seen out of Alty and Symons, Alty is a fair way ahead. But we are yet to play Ultima a second time so will see how Symons plays then.

yer fair call but i personally think symons has the most potential out of them all as he develops more he will be a star of the future who would you think to be more handy out of jay macdonald and nathan alty both good left foot kicks but can get in trouble on there opposite sides

Good Question?
McDonald and Alty both have dangerous left foots, i have seen both of them use their opposite sides when needed, but that isn't too often.
In My Opinion, Tough to decide between the two, both are very similar players, good young fowards that can play in the middle when needed. McDonald also has a defensive side to his game, which will be handy for his future.
Played on a back flank against Nulliwul and was in the best players on the day, will be handy for the bombers in the future. Uses his pace to provide run and carry for the bombers, which is useful.
Alty is a great pack mark and is hard at the ball, lacks the pace that McDonald has but makes up for that in many other areas.
both are handy for their respective clubs.

I think the rookie will go to Alty at this stage, with McDonald not far behind, although there is still a month of footy left plus the clash between Murrabit and Wandella this week :thumbsu::thumbsu:. Big chance for these two to step up.
I agree with you Batman, Symons will be a chance.

Does anyone know the age limit for Rookie of the year??

Am pretty sure all the criteria states is that you have to be under 18 at the start of the year (year being 1st January, not season) and play over a certain amount of senior games to be nominated

Great to see last years rookie of the year Matty Ladson named BOG for the Pio's on the weekend, and Matt Smith from Calavil also having a very good year with the Pio's. Who said kids from district leagues have to go to a high league to make a go of it.

Jordy Simpson has had a very consistent year for the Tigers, won't win the rookie but is a very good young footballer. Lets just hope all these kids hang around the leauge for many years to come.

Can anyone give me details on Ultima's coach?Went and watched them on Saturday-his speeches were terrible-"Stick your head over the ball etc or your team-mates will know you dogged it etc".Watched him very closely-Twice he tried to soccer off the ground instead of trapping the ball with oncoming traffic towards him.Probably the worst couple of efforts i have seen from a coach.Had no workrate at all-just wanted to drop off the whole game and get some easy disposals.Honestly can't believe he is the coach of a footy club.

Can't comment on Pat's coaching as never heard him talk, but Wakools coach Gleeson showed his maturity on Saturday when there was a front on tackle to a wakool bloke by a nully player, the ball spilled free, nothing in it at all, and play on was called. Lachie must have thought there was something in it as he then yelled to "Haggis" (that Lashbrook tool) and "Solar" (not sure who he is) that "anything goes for the rest of the quarter boys, permission to run through a few". Wasn't a great call by the young 'coach'!

Tell us what you really think mate, dont sugur coat it:D. Are you suggesting they should look for a new leader for 2010?

Can anyone else back up these claims? Fair crack at him switch the play, but your opinion is as good as anyone's i guess. If you say he preached"get your head over the pill" and he didnt exercise that direction, then maybe your on to something. Its the old saying"dont ask your player's something your not prepared to do yourself".

When he played in Bendigo Football Leauge he would strugle to get a game in the seconds!!!!!!!
Probably not he's fault he was never any good. Bad appointment by Ultima football club.
Start again next year.

Interesting you ask about Wandella. I don't think there is heaps between the top 3 teams but I reckon it will be a Murrabit vs Nullawil Grand Final.

Who peoples tips for the top 3 in the medal?

Ben Mabon, who is now currently pursuing his football career down in Ballarat playing TAC Cup is a great young player, and a top notch kid. Once he gets some muscle on to him he will be a force to be reckoned with

Are you taking a small urine sample out of me CHAEP SEATS? Struggled to get a 2nds game Bendigo. How/why would the club appoint this bloke? I was going to write maybe he's a good communicator or motivator but it seem's he's neither of those, granted i've never heard the bloke address the troop's.

Can anyone make comment inregard's to Ultima FC, good blokes, commitee, facilitie's, finacial status e.t.c?

Can Wandella be stopped folkes?

I tell the truth. I played in the Bendigo Football Leauge for 9 years.

I agree with "Junky Bish" Nulliwil and Murrabit prob just in front as over all sides, but will be very close. Any injurys will be critical!

Scott Smith is probably leading the medal narrowly from Nigel Dedini who will have a lot of two vote games and third is a toss up between many different players who would be a fair way behind.

Re your question about Ultima, have always been a good club, pedomoniately strong on and off the field. Last couple of years not so good onfield, it appears that they have put a lot on energy into facilities, great showpeice for league Grand Final Last year. Finance never been questioned. Great people all round, supporters and committee.
As for Wandella they were in this position back in 1981, undefeated going into Grand Final, and lost that, maybe that will haunt them again!!!!!!!

It's only our opinion obviously there record is fantastic in the past 18 months but from what i've seen there not the best side in it they are the 3rd best so we'll see what happens.

Which teams from outside the top 4 do you think are well placed to have a crack at it next year?

Which teams up there do you guys think may lose some good personnel and fall?

give the bloke a break mate. it is his first year as coach of a club that no one wanted to coach and is making good progress with a team that has been struggling the past couple of years. and as for soccering off the ground, i believe it was a wet day at murrabit and i dont know about you but ever since i was in the scrubbers ive been told to get the ball forward as quick as possible when its wet. i wonder if you have ever taken charge of a club in a similar position, or if you were too scared (or not good enough) to do so? i think pat has come along way since close to 2 seasons off through injury and will bring ultima a lot of success in the near future and i look forward to seeing it.

The two occaisons i am talking about weren't him trying to gain metrige. They were chances in the 1st qtr to make a statement on the ground after his pre-match speech.I am not having a go at the bloke for coaching but respect needs to be earnt-you don't inheritate it with a title.Lastly Dockers you will be a very old man if you are waiting for success with your current "leader".

when did the argument of respect come into this? im sure all of the players and everyone involved at the club respects pat and you are obivously having a go at him to put "leader". since when has a game ever been won with one bloke on the ground. i dont thikn it would be possible. so im sure if this leader recruits the right blokes next year ultima will be a lot more successful, but time will tell and i hope you eat your words come september next year

Pretty cheap comments here switch the play. It seems that you may have a personel issue with Pat because these comments are completely off target with the good work Pat has been doing. I play under Pat and have heard every one of his speeches this year and think he is a good speaker. I have also been a teammate of his for almost 5 years and cant remember him ever pulling out of a contest, so you cant question his ability to get the hard ball when you have seen 1 game. The game that you speak of was possibly the wettest conditions we have played in for quite some time so kicking the ball off the deck is hardly grounds for this personel attack you've dished up, im sure you saw some other pretty crappy decisions being made that day. As a player and member of the committee, you can rest assured that Pat has the full support of the playing group and the UFC committee.
