Wakool are doing agreat job in promoting country footy and r giving there young players a insight into the big world of sport the progarams that they have started the last few years will see the club stand alone for years to come as have many GRFL clubs done.
Its a pity that some CMFL clubs live in there own little world and r jealous of the GRFL

I think if you could give any club in the league over $100,000 and they all could promote ther club in the league as good as wakool....

There's obviously a bit of hope around here that he is in fact leaving. Not only is a 100% a starter those travellers have been replaced by players who will be better footballers.Wakool may have a turnover of a couple of travellers and they have been replaced by better ones, add Jay Laursen and its back to back for the 'kool.

You're an extremely learned gentleman STP. So knowledgeable from afar.

Roota and Meehan have confirmed the rumour that a certain Hawks turned Roos Full Back is talking to Wakool. (ATTN: DO NOT TAKE THIS AS GOSPEL!)
Check past posts of Meehan. Page 162.

Sorry Vet i can tell you that i had no part in the rumour about Jonathan Hay going to Wakool. It was merely a case of an ex team mate or mates making up bull******** stories.

So i cannot confirm that rumour for you. Sorry mate. Might wanna ask a couple of Murrabits new recruits about it though if you know what i mean :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

I just wouldn't be feel suprised about anything Wakool pulls out of the hat these days. I thought it was a long shot, but, who knows?

The sail at Wandella is something I'd rather not talk about. They seem to be travelling well though with a few possible signings. I am a gullable fellow so let's keep it simple and in the spirit of rumour-milling.

But here is a certainty. The Vet may lay low for a while because he is feeling rather tired and turning his attn to the upcoming World Cup Cricket.

What aren't you one of them Roota?
Or are you just someone thrying to hide behind his name?

Word in from Murrabit, Although Brutus was down on his 3km time trial by 20sec last night, he will be a force in the 2's even 1's this year.

The slower time was put down to his 6 sub 30sec 200m's on Monday night.

how is the league going to go with ump numbers this year, with a few hanging up the boots and Lefty thinking he can relive the days of rovers (been burning up the track with duck so i hear). Any news on who will replace them?

Don't be silly, Jonathan Hay is not playing for Wakool.:D Top rumour though, well done wallygrout:thumbsu:
J Hay better have someone driving him if he plays as he gets lost on a footy ground, hate to see him navigating his way to Quambatook.Although i dont believe for a second there is any possibility he will play, posing a question what position would he play?Yes i know if his mental state was ok he would probably be playing full back in the AFL,but hypothetically what spot would he line up in for the Hawks? He doesnt seem to know how to find it ,so maybe at chb and have someone take him to it.Does he have the capacity to read it and get there? As i said he possibly could still be playing in the best league in the country but they are taught roes to play down there and if all that has been ingrained is to follow someone defensively he may not have the capacity to get it 40 times a game.Harvey is an example, his best footy was as a goalkicking small as was his role downtown, nowhere near as effective as an onballer, wouldnt have been in the best few true onballers in the league. So whatever it may cost would he really have the influence for the money he would command?

he would play forward and have a huge influence. i see your point, but i don't beleive it is valid.

Potentially yes SS,but he has spent his whole career spoiling, didnt see him catching too many,Harvey would have a field day under him,but again for the money he would command he would have to kick in excess of 150.Again his kicking is very suspect,so if all you want is someone to provide a contest, surely there is someone about at a little cheaper market value.

Big difference catching a ball in the afl, to catching a ball in the grfl. he'd park himself inside 50 and slot through 100ish without too many troubles.

We might as well start talking about what position Nathan Buckley and James Hird are going to play in next years side as well while we are on this stupid topic!

Yeah and i have heard that Craig Starcevich is also thinking about making a comeback

Don't forget Johnny Gastev, & Mark Zanotti.

In all seriousness its great to see X AFL footballers whether good, or not so good coming back to the regional leagues like GRFL. Even Lance Picione (Boort), Dale Lewis (Woorinen & Sea Lake) and possibly Darry White (Woorinen) in other leagues this only good to see, surely

how can ya bag someone who has played 139 AFL games and All-Australian Full back? i'm sure he would dominate any country victorian league
