So there's no ACL risk? That's what you were just saying.LOL
You absolutely don't need to take a risk when you have the pick of the draft apart from probably only Ugle Hagan or Campbell in that range.
I say take the risk on his ACL.

Again what player taken after him other than Charlie Curnow has looked all that much better than Milera's best?Is Milera supposed to be an example of a good pick?
We say before he does another one......Any narrator worth his salt always speaks in the past tense.
ACL ACschmell
Time to take a risk. Conservative old crows style won't save us this time
Smith gets a reprieve as he's generally had a solid year. Even tonight he still hit those laser passes.....just missed others.Nicks put the blame squarely on the senior players in his presser again.
Must be frustrating when the guys you need to be good in a rebuild are actually total sh*t
I think you'd be surprised how many times both Crouch and Keays fed the ball to Laird by hand at centre and stoppage clearances...Also, Laird>>>>>>>Stat Crouch.
All the dicking around kicking backwards in the defensive 50Smith is one of our senior players and "those kicks" are beneath his skill level and experience.
That kick to Stephenson for a goal was a horrorshow, a momentum annihilator.
5 or 6 players before him all found their mark as they looked for a way through and out, smart possession footy and I was thinking "OK, I like this, better than bombing down the line" --- then Smith to Stephenson and the whole backline dropped their heads.
The acl ****ed Tex's game up. Was never the same but now age has caught up with him like every player. What little pace he had has now gone completely. This is exactly how the coaches fked up Tex's game. Now looks like they're going down the same track with Fog.
Did he name names?Nicks put the blame squarely on the senior players in his presser again.

Kicking backwards brings pressure when you don't have good disposers and quick players that can find space. We need to start hitting kicks through the middle. Would prefer a turnover there than in our back half. All the dicking around kicking backwards in the defensive 50
Cost us dearly. When transitioning to midfield we need movement to create loose players, kicking backwards 25m then losing possession is just so dumb ass. Kick the bloody ball forward even if you only gain 10m its still further from their goals to stop this stupid turnovers gifting goals and killing any confidence.

Matty was putrid again tonight. He just does nothing that advantages the team, gets it but there’s just nothing creative whatsoever.I think you'd be surprised how many times both Crouch and Keays fed the ball to Laird by hand at centre and stoppage clearances...
Nah. If we listened to people on this board about talls then Berg would have been delisted by now (the poor bastard only just played his 13th game). Frankly, we need to give these guys 30 or 40 games before making a call on them.Is anyone concerned about the Fog yet? He hasn't had much continuity but he struggles to have any involvement at all. You can blame crap delivery but the Berg and McAdam have shown plenty of promise despite sh*t delivery.
WAS might be the operative word....He was No.1 coming into the year and then the ACL intervened.
It fell away like the fitness, how can Roo be at the club and know what fitness program and ball skill drills it took to make a GF and watch the shit of the last few years and not speak up and say 'your doing it wrong' to the accountable people Hass for example. He's ok if he's kicking 15-25 m and has time.
Remember when Pyke arrived? He made all the players do kicking drills over different distances and looked at the data and they were super disciplined in 2016-17 just taking on the kicks they had a high probability of hitting.
And when team mates new a kick was out of someone's range they provided the within-range option.
Was brilliant coaching.
Not sure why that fell away.
I wonder if his comment about Laird building his game as an aggressive defender priming him for a move into the midfield, is a cryptic clue that Jones might be moved to the back line in 2021.Nicks put the blame squarely on the senior players in his presser again.

Wtf? Oh, it’s Rabbit, carry on...Also lines through Walker, Himmelberg, and McHenry.
Walker is 100% cooked, the only time he doesn't look done is in the quarters where his man gets a bit lax - Walker still has that bag of tricks he can delve into when there is space, but he can't do the bread and butter stuff anymore.
Himmelberg may be able to get to the right spots, but he has a terminal case of the Luke Jerichos, and a 2 metre tall ruck-forward cannot play delicate, it has to be muscle and bulldozer, especially when you don't have the leg speed to be a lead up target.
McHenry doesn't look like a player in any way, shape, or form. What happened to the U18 player? Where did he go? Was he never really there at all?
When he mentioned that playing in defence gave Laird time to build his body, it immediately made me think of Jones.I don't think so. I think it's a statement about us wanting to play young defenders in his position (McPherson, Hamill, Sholl) and also that we might need someone like Laird in the midfield after the Crouches are turfed
Which is why he needs to be played closer to goal. Then, when he takes a mark he can shoot for goal, rather than feel compelled to quickly play on from the wing. The acl f’ed Tex's game up.
