Without being one eyed with your own club, which clubs should/could get the gig to play on Good Friday?

My thoughts on this topic would be ...

If we have a match, it must consist of 2 Victorian clubs obviously due to it being RCH Appeal in Melbourne. Stuff struggling clubs, that wont maximise donation efforts for the Appeal. TWO clubs out of Collingwood, Hawthorn, Richmond, Essendon & Geelong (Top 5 Victorian club membership figures from 2013).

Stuff Carlton, they don't deserve it as they are poor so far in 2014. Can't be Pies vs Dons as we already have that on Anzac Day. Neither Hawks vs Cats as its traditionally on Easter Monday. So out of Richmond, Dons & Pies. Why not Collingwood vs Richmond. We also have Dons vs Tigers Dreamtime at the G.

A Good Friday match would ideally be a Twilight match starting at 4:40pm at MCG. ALL profits donated to the Good Friday Appeal.

The AFL will clearly give it to Essendon as an apology for making them the scapegoat for the inadequately controlled sports science programs of 11 other clubs.

It will be the only explanation when we are announced as the new owners of Good Friday Footy. :thumbsu:

Norf v Port at the G, share the blockbusters around

Can you imagine that... both electrifying midfields, exciting forwards that can steal a game in a heart beat, and the roar of 14,000 fans as the game goes down to the final second

Already got chills

Good Friday not boring enough for you?

You know what, the blockbuster games never involve those two teams. I have no issues with a couple of smaller clubs getting the gig and making some cash. It's like Queens birthday. It's great Melbourne have that game.

There is a reason for that you know.

You mean it's nice that we gave it to them :thumbsu:

Agreed

A Big Day like Good Friday would require two Big Clubs to maximise returns for the AFL.

This is not a day for beggars of the small (boutique) club type.

Surely not serious, would be lucky to get 25,000 for that match. Would be like a ghost town. Would tumbleweeds be forced to pay to get in to that game?
