Are these the same people who would also suggest we are only two kicks away from being 5 and 1?

Swings and Roundabouts people.

It just goes to show how razor thin the line is between success and failure at AFL level.

Boak kicks a goal and the bulldogs defender doesn't shank a kick to gollant with under 2 minutes left and we are 1-5.

Keays kick against freo is a meter longer and he doesn't blaze away in the dying moments of the Essendon game and we are 5-1.

Both arguments are as valid as each other.

I am continually torn this season. When we lose a close one - I think of the draft pick at the end of the year. When we win a close I won I look at our list and how no matter what decisions are made at the selection table we are rebuilding, so a crack at a finals tilt might be a good thing for a young side.

Nicks / Beveridge
5 Doedee / Frampton
4 Keays / Doedee
3 ROB / Walker
2 Libba / Libba
1 Frampton / T O'Brien
Interesting.

Does this work:
Nicks / Beveridge
5 Frampton/ Doedee
4 Doedee/ Libba
3 ROB / Walker (<== could be other way around)
2 Keays/ Keays
1 T O'Brien/ Frampton ...?

Your combo would suggest that Beveridge considers Keays' prolific work and possessions to be non-damaging, which is possible.
Mine suggests Beveridge-love for Liberatore. All moot points.

... and if BOTH of these happen:
Boak kicks a goal and the bulldogs defender doesn't shank a kick to gollant with under 2 minutes left and we are 1-5.

Keays kick against freo is a meter longer and he doesn't blaze away in the dying moments of the Essendon game and we are 5-1.
... then we're 3-3, still. ;)

Just reinforces your point, really.
There's only a handful of kicks between 5-1, 3-3 and 1-5.

Swings and Roundabouts people.
indeed.

Could well be right, but my thinking was it's more likely Beveridge snubbed Keays than Nicks snubbed Libba... as both were easily top 5 players on the ground imo... & doubt Nicks would have given O'Brien anything.

Berry had some big disposals late in the game.

He also has some good core strength. Berry was tackled twice but kept his feet on both occasions. It is hard to pay a HTB against a player still on his feet.

He is strong

apologies, but don't you have RoB (3) in the Nicks column?

I think Nicks would've given Walker 3, Beveridge ==> RoB 3. Who knows, eh? :drunk:
I missed the key word "not"

Watched the replay.

Jones looked like a different player. Played with confidence again. Even made an underground handball! Had to rewind to make sure it was him.
We know he has it in him... particularly his ruthless attack on the ball.

Consistency of performance is the issue which should improve as gets more experience.

Best team performance by our defence in a very long time.

It’s funny, but he’s become one player I’ve started to look forward watching on the weekend. He now has a body that can withstand AFL footy and I’m loving seeing his confidence grow.

He's been pretty good in the last two games, attacking the footy, using his pace etc. That rundown tackle on Weightman for example.

Interesting words from a WB poster:
We haven’t had the draft currency to pick up good players because of Darcy and Marra. I feel more angry that Marra went as pick one, and GWS bid on Darcy rather than Daicos who was obviously the better player. The fact that Adelaide came out and said they bid on Marra to stop us having the currency to bid on Rowe, should have been looked at as draft tampering.

A bit to unpack with this one.....

Just watched the game after spending two weeks camping.

Most things been said

One thing I loved was seeing the spread of our guys around the contest. Multiple players in attacking position, and then the same numbers swarming defensively.

Under Pyke we never really did this. Reminds me of the Round 1 North game in 2015 against Norf.

And quick hands.
