Stack played some really good footy at the back end of 2021.

Collier Dawkins is absolutely a burnt pick. Stocker would likely still be on our list if Silvagni wasn't a hero.

So that is 34 on the senior list currently with Hopper and Taranto coming in right?

Edit: Sorry 33
By my count it's 33 with Taranto & Hopper added.

For all the shit Aarts that he got from our fans we have to remember in perspective.
I have to respect the guy for chasing his dream as a mature age rookie and got the most out of himself.
If only Stacky had the heart of Jake we’d have a top line competition star.
He would’ve been on peanuts in our salary cap so he provided reasonable ‘value’ for his respective salary compared to others who might’ve been overpaid and clog a list.

Hopefully he takes some serious coin in country footy and enjoys the perks of work life balance outside of the afl bubble.

Stack’s 2021 is often overlooked, he had some great games on the back end at half back

The Freo game yes, but that was it. He wasn't great against North and had an absolute shocker against GWS. Then had a really poor lazy turnover against Hawthorn before going forward late for a few goals. Hes had enough chances with us, maybe he needs a new club to find his best, if so good luck to him. He was big for us keeping our season alive (along with Chol) in 2019.

Sydney stack played the most games during the tigers dynasty - without playing Ina flag iirc.

Respect forever a legend.

The vfl flag was great too even with ss on one leg

Not surprised with the delistings. Surprised that the wording indicates none will be re-rookied.

I thought with so many late picks, that we’d prefer to have experienced players on the rookie list and not 53, 64 plus additional rookies.

Either way, it makes sense from a personnel standpoint. Hopper + Taranto and the emergence of Sonsie and Ross (and the long term chance MRJ becomes a midfielder) meant that RCD and Martyn are unlikely to push for AFL action.

Stack has all the talent, but when you have to make a decision on who to keep when competition for list spots is high, multiple instances of unprofessionalism will always count against you.

I will die on the RCD hill. I know most will say it’s a bust and a wasted pick. But for mine he was the exact high risk high reward pick that you should swing for at 20 (which is essentially the second round).

Completely agree on your comments regarding Aarts, yeah he wasn’t the greatest but loved the dream and was a popular guy around the club. Hopefully if there is no interest from anywhere else he remains with the VFL program.
Reckon rcd and SS have a good chance of making it in the afl
Given RCD’s strong finish to the season at VFL I reckon we would have considered delisting then picking him up in the rookie draft however seeing as tho that hasnt been announced i am going to guess somebody will take him as a delisted free agent.

Rcd to hawks or norf

Aarts got the most out of himself and could have jagged himself a premiership in 2020, still gave everything he had each time he was selected and that's all you can ask for rookie listed players. Walks away with a VFL B&F and VFL Premiership.
Martyn & RCD, I still believe they were cruelled by Covid interrupting their 2020 & 2021 seasons when they both would have benefitted from consistent game time even at VFL level to develop their games. Yeah you can train until the cows come home to get fit, but nothing beats experience in games when you're a kid developing your game.
Stack failed himself with his inability to knuckle down when it was needed to ensure he came back each preseason in as good a shape as possible. Gets a free pass for the 2021 season because of the WA government keeping him jailed for months, but the other off seasons were his own fault.

Hopefully all 4 go on to get the most out of the rest of their careers moving forward be it at another AFL club or at state league somewhere
