Goodes' hit

It actually doesn't look that great in the slow mo replay. Given the suspensions handed out the last couple of weeks, you'd think he'd do some time for it. Pretty soft, but that the game these days I guess.

There were head high hits all night (from both sides), unfortunately Goodes was the one that was 'seen' by the umpires! I think he will escape penalty but he does need to be careful...it's okay to be agressive 'cos that's what the game's about but please bring it on when it really matters i.e. that fantastic tackle on the boundary at pace was orsm.

How about the umpires talking about Jack's holding at the back of contests that was caught on microphone? I think they're on to him :D

I reckon Kerr might get a call up at the tribunal for crunching Kirk in the back before a contest.

Kirk was down winded for ages, hit him in the back with elbow/forearm if they have decent tv vision he is gone for sure.

I didn't see it.

What about Selwood's punch on Buchanan?

What about Selwood's punch on Buchanan?

Didnt see it, only blood after incident, could have happened any sort of way, stud, accidental elbow etc etc. Was right on cheekbone, exception of BBB brainfades, very much doubt he cleaned him up with a punch.

Just does not happen in todays footy

The cut on his cheekbone was something else. Buchanan was clutching his stomach as they returned for the centre bounce.

Goodes will go and rightly so! 2 weeks.

The bump on LRT was FANTASTIC, he went down like a sack of potatoes, was great. Fair bump, good hard footy.

Not sure what happened with Amon, I think he milked the love tap into the stomach a bit. The umpire was like, "Um no" straight away.

I just have my fingers crossed that he only gets two. We sure need him for when we take on the Pies.

He clearly intended to bump and made high contact. The brunt of the contact was taken by Selwood's shoulder, which is what may save Goodes from an extended break. But with recent incidents (the Waters and Burgoyne ones in particular) and his carry over points from last year, two weeks would be a good outcome.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the hit on LRT. Great bump.

I reckon Kirk was getting worked over all night, and some of it not within the rules. He went down, well off the ball, a couple of times, and stayed down. Kirk doesn't stay down unless he really has been hit. But I suspect nothing conclusive will be caught on camera.

Unfortunately they love to throw arounf the saying that the head is sacrosanct or whatver the word is and whatever it means - obviously it means protect at all costs and a no go zone.

I agree that the way they have been ruling lately (Burgoyne hit ???) Goodes will do some time this time as n omatter how soft it was the head was hit by Goodes.

Real shame for the Swans and sad as it is to say I think he needs to go so we can get all those Goodes is a protected species tossers off our backs. Though with them whatever penalty dished out wouldn't be good enough.

Best defense it to show the opening bounce hit by Stegs and then show Goodes hit and say "Whats the bloody difference? We both go or no one goes"

I have been on these boards defending the likes of junior burger, Waters and Burton and it really grates me how soft the AFL is with how they react to this.

BUT, Goodes has been on the borders lately with reports and might need a little break to wake him up. Better now, than in the finals.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
After all he's 194 and close to 100kg. If we see him as a midfielder (which he is), he has great straight-line burst speed, but his agility is also going to quite bad...so...

But wouldn't be too surprised to see him getting rubbed out though.

Rightly so you say,great supporting.
The Swans will prove that the initial contact was to the shoulder, nothing in it just wait for the st.scum trolls to come on board this week

The Kerr incident was clearly caught on camera. Kirk was moving backwards and as Kerr ran into him elbowed him in the back.

Wait wait wait wait, Goodes actually hit him??? Looked to have much in it as Goodes at the opening bounce.

Yeah I went their.

So someone else actually saw what happened to Goodesy at the opening bounce. That was more intentional that what Goodesy got reported for.....

What about the Staker goal, after the ball was already over the line?????

Don't tell me WCE don't get favoured at home......

Surely he has to go....THought it looked bad at the game but seeing the replay this morning he did make some contact with the head but it wasnt as bad as i first thought...But remember Goodsey had that reprimand earlier in the season therefore hasa points hanging over him and should go for atleast a week or two....Waters for us last week got 2 and his was a simple hip and shoulder so folloing the 3 suspensions last week dished out Goodes should get atleast one...Maybe two.

Yep, got to agree. The times he's gotten off, I think he was given a little benefit of the doubt because of who he is, but if he gets off this time, particularly after the 3 suspensions from last weekend, then everyone has the right to say he's a protected species.
I think he'll get 2.
