Situation: I should be knee deep in research now but I just cannot get in the mood. It is really bizarre because my passion has been building for a number of years but this year I just cannot be stuffed. Last year I think I spent more time at work in January on DT than work.

I am curious as to whether anyone else has hit this hump before, will it pass when say the NAB Cup starts? Is there a cure or is it over?

Are West Coast really the most succesful team in the AFL?

Brisbane and West Coast are the most succesful AFL clubs with 3 premierships.

Port Adelaide is the most succesful club in the AFL with 35 premierships (34 SANFL and 1 AFL).

Carlton and Essendon are the most succesful VFL/AFL clubs with 16 premierships.

I think based on the above Port Adelaide would be the most successful club since it is an All Australian comp and therefore all competitions prior should be regarded equally.

Now I am off to check how many WAFL cups South and East Freo have won.

Just checked Easts (29) and South (13), therefore Fremantle with 42 premierships is the most successful club in the comp, followed quite closely by Port Adelaide with 35.

Hopefully the two greatest clubs can get back to their winning ways sooner rathe than later.

I think I like you Wee, however Fremantle FC and South and East Fremantle are a different kettle of fish to the history of Port Adelaide FC winning a licence to enter the AFL.

In answer to your previous post, im also suffering from burnout changing my dream team on the basis of estimated positions and values is such a waste of time but we still do it! But just wait until Feb 1, and then the first NAB cup game, and interest levels rise as you realise its time to flog your mates again :D

You say potato I say potato, I stand by my logic:p Maybe you can clear up another question then Waspy. I thought that the above was the case but then I hear about the Magpies and the Power merging to solve the current financial crisis???? I would have thought that they were already one in the same.

It is a long and somewhat confusing story this one, debate has raged ever since Port won the licence about the origins of the Port Adelaide Football Club that would compete in the AFL.

In short Port Adelaide won the bid to enter the AFL however the licence was held by the SANFL. The fact that Port Adelaide won the licence obviously raised the issue as to what would happen to the Port Adelaide presence in the SANFL. Port Adelaide's proposal to have a close relationship between the SANFL and AFL based clubs was shut down by the SANFL and rival clubs in fear it would be too great an advantage, and the compromise was that the SANFL club moved to different administration facilities with a different training venue and no linked membership packages, no player sharing and no financial links and a slightly different name (Port Adelaide Magpie Football Club). The two clubs are therefore seperate legal entities with shared histories.

If you want to learn more I recommend going to the Port board.... or Bay 13 where the truth is never far away

Been there - it will pass.

A lot of research now is a bit wasteful because you might get all set for a player who bombs in the nab cup or isn't named rd 1 and it has all been for nothing.

You will liven up as the season draws nearer and a few games start (read some practice match reviews they can always fire you up a bit).

Just a question guys if anyone knows how robbie warnock is going for the blues?? pretty cheap and if fit anyone think he can play 22???

Ok, what's going on with the "AFL Record- NAB Cup and Dream Team guide?"

Somebody on here mentioned the 28th of January, but it isnt here yet.

I went to this website: http://www.slatterymedia.com/store and there it is! Coming Soon?

I called this place this morning, and the delightful young lady on the other end of the phone told me that the guide will be released AFTER the "first game". She obviously has no idea. What would be the point?

I did look at the front cover, and it has the prices of the Captains. Goodes is a lot cheaper than i thought he would be, i wonder if these prices are correct?

Quick question.

If DT is running over the NAB Cup and NAB Challenge games, does that mean that DT scores will be relatively public (i.e. on fanfooty.com)?
In the past it's only been the NAB Cup games only.

On a side note, it would be interesting if SC will follow suit.
