My random question: With Hurley out for rounds 1 and 2, and my bench players in defense being Matt Maguire and Phil Davis... should I keep Hurley, or trade him? Who would be good to trade him for around the $270,000 mark? Cheers!

Hurley being a second year key position is not guaranteed to break out anyway so I would definately get someone else in. There are plenty of cheap back options this year that you could consider like Buckley from the Pies. Keep an eye on the options over the weekend and that will be your best guide.

There's talk that Hurley might have signed up with GC for 2011.

Not really sure how this will play out during the season for all those that have secretly signed up.

Once the penny drops on who these likely suspects are, you might find some are consigned to reserve football. Could be interesting.

is there any loving for simon buckley?? everyone is talking up hunt, broadbent and ladson. but i think his probably the best cheapy/roughie out of all of them.

or am i just dreaming. :S

I really like buckley too. if he plays in round 1 his a lock.

I have 110, 300 left and need 1 more forward, any suggestions. Allready have Gumbleton and Lobbe as reserves

Dont get Lobbe in the forward line, get Pods or TDL instead, will score better and should be in there best 22s.

whats a good score to be aiming for for round 1?

That is a difficult question. I always thing anything towards 2000 is pretty competitive first up. The thing is sometimes rule changes are rigourously applied in the early rounds - in 2007 there was a strict rule enforced which lead to a very high free kick ratio which lowered scores by about 80 acrossthe board. Shouldn't happen this year so I would say 2000.

Does anyone know what cooney averged in 2008?

There are heaps of sites you can find this information from - fanfooty (www.fanfooty.com.au) is the best. Simply type in the players name and you have your answer :thumbsu:

The definition of a 'good' round one score will depend solely on how the popular picks perform. Early in 2009, popular picks such as Higgins, Skipworth, Houlihan and Krakouer performed very very well and thus the average score was probably a little higher than the mark previously expected.

However, I agree with the Scumbag that anything around 2000 is a solid start and most people would be content with.

Maybe, although a Scumbag is a Scumbag.

Edited now.

Ha very nice mate.

Quigs and Rota, can we please attempt to keep this in check. I completely understand there is a massive history here, but I don't want this thread to be completely derailed.

Cheers

Tarquin

Isn't the random question thread meant to be exclusivley for derailment?

FFS. Relax mate. You'll live longer.

The posts before were good entertainment, and it's not like this thread has any real point anyway.

lol going by my teams score total so far its at 1550 haha. hope they perform better than this come round 1 or ill be a slow starter haha

The posts people put up made it pretty clear there was a bet.

As per usual you just big noted yourself and then did not carry through with it. The bet was made you were then supposed to organise someone to hold the money. You did not do that but that did not affect the bet that was made. I assume when you went home and asked mummy for the money you got your bum smacked.

The bet was made and you did not pay.

So clown-boy I am willing to give you a double or nothing shot or are you just going to run your mouth and remain the loser you have shown yourself to be of late?

So you say there was a bet but no money was given and nothing was organised? lets see how you would go in a court of law. Yes you did better then me last year but look over the last few and we can see who is the better DTmer. So go run your mouth and show just how insecure you are, how old are you, grow up.

Geelong will love our free-flowing style first up. For that reason alone, Bartel has to be a lock.

So you are all talk again. Not a surprise.

If you are so confident that my result was a one off you should be jumping to regain some semblence of credibility.
