Who will benefit most from the injuries to:

Fisher
Corey
Bird

For Corey I would say Kelly would benefit a lot. Kelly was still improving coming into the 2009 season but because of an injury to Harley(and Hunt out for the year) he had to help out down back. It took him a little while to ajust to the new role and his DT scores were fairly low when playing there. Its interesting to know Kelly averaged 100 while Harley was playing and 73 when Harley was out. Now that Hunt is back Kelly will go back into the middle and will go and play the role like he did when Harley was in the side. Id say Kelly is locked into the cats best 22 now so there arent any job security issues, he was put into the leadership group aswell. Now that Corey is out for the start of the season Kelly will have more time in the middle and should get more of the ball. Priced at an average of 84, surely he is at least worth a look at?

At this stage it looks like Barlow could average 80 plus for the year, he is way ahead of Bastinac.

I'd be inclined to swap that around so that both of your ruck bench spots are being utilised, so you can find better value on the forward bench.

Appreciate the feedback - but I'm fairly comfortable with my reasoning.

4th ruck has always been deadwood so a $77k player fills that spot.

With Buddy out R1 - I've got Tippett playing forward, Lobbe swapping to ruck and one of Lobbe/Warnock accompanying Sandi on the ground. R2 sees on-field ruck combo return to Sandi/Tippett and Warnock/Lobbe return to fairly consistent (games-wise not score-wise) bench players.

I really don't see a plethora of bona-fide, bottom-end cashmakers in the forwards (Podsiadly, Rockliff, Hitchcock the best options IMO - and even then each one of these presents their own risk) so I'll be relying on my $200k+ forwards rising instead of the bottom-enders. I love Rus but not for DT. Gumbleton will never get a look in as long as I play DT. TDL and Rohan don't really do it for me either.

So whilst Lobbe as a Forward bench player limits my cash-making ability from that slot, the reason he's there is for flexibility/security/donut-avoiding.

In terms of midfield structure I am tempted to use a 3 premium rotating captaincy (depending on match-ups) idea.

In effect instead of having a Swan or Ablett to walk up captain each week, I have picked three very good DTers below the elite bracket in Boyd, Mitchell and Selwood and intend to rotate the captaincy between the three.

Am I on to something or am I batty?

Ive just noticed that Matt Campbell from the Kangaroos has shrunk by 4cm's in one year.

Any thoughts on how this will affect his DT output?

That depends on which part of him has shrunk the 4cm.

I only have the one. I was under the impression it was against DT rules. But Karl Langdon on the DT chat just said he had 3 teams.

Would love to make a few hybrids of my team because there are 2 or 3 strategies I'm struggling to decide on.

Is it unethical DT play??

you can have as many teams as you like - you just can't win any prizes if you have multiple teams.

One of the blokes in my league (which is a cash league where you pay to enter and get prizes if you make 1st or 2nd) actually got caught having a second team under a fake name! And he was the guy who was running the league and collecting all the money!

Everyone in the league started asking who this other person was in the 'coaches box'. I think he used a fake name of 'Jan Wong' and then somone did a facebook search and looked it up...

There is no such thing as ethical DT play, people on forums like this cannot sit in judgement on anyone else (unless they are appropriately qualified in which case please copy your certificate into your sig, thanks).

All the posters who get in a lather about multiple teams need to wake up.

No one anywhere gives a flying jackrabbit how many teams you have which is why it is not strictly policed. The VS people want to be able to tell the sponsors how many coaches there are. It's $. Why do I say that? Because a few years ago you could have 3 teams NO PROBLEM! Just had to pay for it by buying some naff UK newsletter with some rubbish DT info. Where are the ethics there? I spent 20 bucks on that crap had 6 teams and suffered badly. That is the down side. I only ended up caring about the number one team anyway.

It's an internet based fantasy game, there is no honour.

Barlow I like, but still risky as he hasn't been elevated yet.
I would get Connors personally, Shuey is an option as well.

I'm pretty sure rookies cannot be officially elevated till the week after the NAB cup GF. From his performances and the fact that Freo have 3 (i think) spots available on their senior list (plus the fact that Freo are really bad ) he will probably be elevated.

But there will be plenty of time to change your team if he isn't elevated and the fact he cost more then the likes of Shuey its a downgrade, not an upgrade.
