Benalla seems to have too much run for most sides, their young legs, skill and confidence is going to be hard to stop. Definate premiership contenders

Obviously recruited well and got their off field right which is vital! Big game for Mooroopna tomorrow-still think they will replace Seymour in the Top 6. Hopefully Shepparton are following Benalla's lead and trying to right the ship for 2014. Not scoring a goal in the first half is worrying!

Ky have been the inform team for the last 6 weeks along with Benalla. Play each other next week which looks like a real test for both. Similar teams in regards to run although I think Ky have more scoring options with better forwards. Should be a real test for both to see how they are stacking up.

Any reports come out the Saints / Tigers game. ?

After reading that it finished in a flurry of scuffles just wondering if any one has a holiday

Rochy runner got his eye opened up in a scuffle on the boundary line today.
Lucky it was only that,
The Runner needs to piss off and not get involved. Particularly if he's going to throw one

lets name names. Why did the fight start? Very cheap late shot from behind from Trent Freer. Between Freer and Perkovic not a footballer between them. Cheap shots with blokes on the deck and not looking so probably ended up getting what they deserved and could not believe Perkovic was only yellow carded for the knee action late in the game.
I dont usually mention umpires but could have been quite possibly the worst I have seen for a couple of years. Old bloke paid fees one way and younger bloke paid some completely opposite. At least learn consistency as crowd showed what it thought at half time by mouthing off to which the older umpire told them to "F...Off and try doing it yourself you morons". Made me laugh as well as his umpiring.
Rochy had United covered after half time and played their best footy of the year. Winners all over the ground and forwards were outstanding. Keeping United to 10 goals until 20 min mark of last quarter was a good effort with a 3 cheap ones late not meaning much.

Looked like it from only 15m away.
Ost Padding for a man that normally posts sense that is absolute crap. NO way known he threw one and was only trying to get the snipers off Moon. Agree, runner should not be in there, but to say he threw one is totally ridiculous. Tidy up.

I'm not condoning anything that any one else did but when it looked like there was a movement of an arm towards a player ( from where I viewed it) you have to ask why was he in there.
Non Players have no right to get involve and for even their own safety.
As I paid up and loyal member of Rochy for the past 15 yrs we do not need to be seen as a club that goes the knuckle. I know it takes two to tango but the last two weeks we have seen two unsavoury Indiscretions involving Rochy. Lets not go down that path.
I also believe it was said over the radio that a spectator was involved.
Lets leave all that behind and strive to be the proud club we should be

But you don't allow opposition to get away with cheap shots which United did all day. The Rochy Runner was definitely not throwing punches, from where I was (yes also about 15m away) looked like he was trying to get the players away and copped a stray one. "Going the knuckle" implies that Rochy were not worried about the footy, which is not what it was. It was retaliation to a cheap shot which in my books is "squaring up the ledger, and part of footy. If you want to dish it out, be prepared for it on the way back.

Against Benalla, Rochy were in the wrong and started the fight. Completely opposite against United as a late cheap hit started that fight from United. I do think as a playing group you need to stand up occasionally when too many cheap ones get thrown. Most teams I have seen respond the same way at some stage as you cant just keep taking it each week.

Of course a runner should get involved in fights, either to drag his players away or to prevent an opposition player belting the shite out of someone, its his duty of care.
No he shouldnt be throwing puches but also has the right to defend himself.

If your son was on the ground copping punches while his runner was standing doing nothing then you would abuse the runner for trying to drag the puncher off him.

Freer built like Tarzan plays like jane

Nah Eagle built like Tarzan and you forget when you dont see them every week how good he is. Missed probably 4 shots but VERY athletic and a real target up forward. At the start of the day if you said 4 goals to Eagle you would take it every time. 1 goal after quarter time so put it down to a win to Bowen but could have been 6-8.

Mm yes and no! Makes it hard for him by leading deep into the pocket and isn't the most accurate kick at the best of times! Thought Bowen was outstanding on him and received a lot of help from other defenders, it was a wonderful team display by rochy! Looked a class above united on the day with their quick ball movement

Bowen has been good for most of the year down back. Saturday's game was the best I've seen them play this year. Big test for Rochy will be against Mooroopna this week. Hopefully Rochy can get up and get a bit of a buffer from the pack.

As a distant GVFL observer I note that Tatura are not winning convincingly over much lower placed opposition, yet are now sitting a game clear atop of the ladder. Is it the case that they are not playing well but still winning and will be a force once they put it all together?

Just read Echuca's paper-Riverine Herald...Echuca had an 8 goal win against Shepp.....Archard had 33 disposals, Williams 28, and Pollock 27....can anyone explain how the hell they weren't named in the best 6 players? Did anyone see the game? This has happened before with Pollock not named against Mansfield last week, when clearly in the best.

Maybe the coach doesn't have much of an idea?? Couldn't believe he bagged the previous coach in last weeks paper about not developing players, just a cop out from being 7-8th last year to 2nd bottom this year. Not sure the previous coach has had anything to do with that.
