some big games this week in gv! Rochester will be hoping to get the win against an unpredictable cats outfit... think they will get over the line by 26 points if they ARE serious contender they just don't drop these games?? Swans also head up to a dangerous part of the world in Mansfield and are predicted to come away with a win but is always hard up there.. Swans by 29 points after Mansfield leading at half time and looking good!! Tatura v euroa is game of the weekend and I think the magpies will be really making this a (see where we are at game) I reckon.. I think tat at home will be to big of an ask and the bullys to come away with a 13 point win!!

It may not be of interest to 99.9% of you on here, but some old heads from Seymour, Euroa (even Mansfield) may be aware of the name Harley Hammond. Sadly Harley passed away earlier this week and will be farewelled this coming Monday.

Harley was one of the biggest contributors to local sport in Broadford.

Obviously Central Park was later named in his honour, but he not only served footy, but cricket, the athletics club (the old Broadford Gift) plus many others. On top of that he was a wonderful community person. I know how thankful I am of the work he and his committee did at the local cemetary since it became an integral part of my life about 20 years ago.
He was a past senior executive member of the Riddell DFL during the club's first stint (1977-1984) having also previously served in similar roles in the old Waranga North East FL, Heathcote DFL as well as coaching Broadford 3rds sides in his day.
Broadford is poorer for having lost a true gentleman, but those who got to meet or serve under Harley are much richer for the opportunity.
Anyone that knows me well enough, understands my allegiance to Broadford's past history and the first things young dudes were taught back in the 80's was who people like Harley etc. were and what they had done. I highly doubt many young people these days even take the time to look at photo's, honuor boards or even acknowledge past icon's ..... they're more worried about getting their envelope and pi$$ing off.
It's a crying shame as we are only holding the keys of our clubs until the next mob roll in, but sadly people who give almost their lifelong service to club's and communites are minority these days

yeh spot on woody but just think in my eyes and opinion and from what ive seen I think he,s a good player but not the SUPERSTAR that we were hearing on his arrival. he would be on 1200 to 1400 I would think but I would class him an 700-800 dollar player that's all.. everyone has different opinions and that's what its about but also hearing he is a terrific guy and just a lad so good to see
