I think if I was looking at challenging Ky, if I was going to play 3 practice games I would trying to play at least 1 game against a quality side from a higher league eg om & Geelong club, that's all

Trent you do sometimes have an eye for the obvious.

Not quite sure what your point is but I reckon Rochy played at least two of those sides pre-2019. Possibly all three. Miller and Bartels from South might be a connection. Eaglehawk have a strong Rochy connection with Mcphee, Bacon and Williams (now back at Rochy) having played there. Flaherty (or Schmidt) might have been the Sandhurst connection? Cannot remember. Rochy have recruited heavily from Bendigo over the past 15 years.

Yeah fair point Trent. Practice matches are largely pragmatic but I reckon playing Eaglehawk is useful even in practice games.

Sorry lads too many head knocks lol. BUT THERE IS THIS and I'm trying to work out how you can have 50k at the G round 1 and have this rubbish going on ;

Children will be told not to high five and parents urged to send only mum or dad to games as kids make a long awaited return to junior footy.
Staggered match and training times, shorter quarters and live streaming will be used in some competitions, to reduce risks and ensure as many kids as possible can play safely.

The rules say parents or caregivers must remain outside the boundary line, observe social distancing and “strongly recommend” a maximum of one guardian at training.

Staggered schedules “must be adopted where multiple teams are using the same ground’’.

Yarra Junior Football League chief executive Tim Murray said stopping kids high fiving would be tough.

“It would really help if the AFL guys wouldn’t because many of these kids want to become AFL players so they are going to mimic what they see on TV,’’ he said.

But children were “so excited to get back out on the ground’’ and happy to follow the rules.

“We have staggered some of the starting times, we are trying to reduce the length of some games to allow a bit more time for people to enter and exit the ground at changeover of matches,’’ he said.

“We won’t let spectators on the ground to listen to coaches at the break, we recognise the importance of that tradition but we think it’s a habit this year we need to break.’’

Wholeheartedly agree Ringo.

The measures being implemented are illogical, when you consider the Australian Open, MCG, the way hospitality venues are running, etc.

As a healthcare professional, I appreciate the need to reduce the likelihood of infection occurring through basic hygiene practices.

These don’t include changing the essence of our game - going as a family, kicking the footy on the ground, listening to coaches, and celebrating goals.

Why are these measures so extreme? Is it a case of people justifying their positions?

Please tell me ...

Ducked over to rumba where they played host to the Shepp swans where as expected the swans a little bit slicker than their Murray league opponents. Watched Moroopna last week at the same venue and they are certainly above the swans IMO. Also unlike last week you were allowed to go to the huddles today thank god for that 🙏

I will attempt to explain the lack of logic re this; The AFL want people going to games or watching it on TV so they make it more difficult for grassroots. Can someone tell me the point of a vaccine if we still can't have basic freedoms back. It is hypocritical of the AFL when they can have 65k at a game. At least the GV have a fixture! the VFL is still waiting and the rumour mill says that crowd numbers will be halved and tickets to be pre purchased..what a load of crap.

Unfortunately I think the 3 Shepp sides will battle it out for the wooden spoon this year. I’d be grouping the sides like this at the moment.

Kyabram

Euroa
Rochy
Echuca

Mooroopna
Tatura

Benalla
Seymour
Mansfield

Shepp United
Shepp Swans
Shepp Bears

Don't disagree with you re Shepp teams Torps but I don't see Mansfield being any better than them. Hopefully the Swans have a few wins. Agree that Mooroopna might surprise. Not sure about Tatura being ahead of Benalla and Seymour as I think they will be similar to Rochy. Kyabram don't have an obvious challenger.

Well I’m just happy everyone that plays can get out on the ground and have a kick.

And I can go watch some local footy.
If that means watching from the car, big deal.

Already bought a club membership and a couple of Roar Draw tickets.

Yes. Things maybe different but I’ll cope.

Bring on 2021 Footy.

That's what I think too just enjoy it.

Ky will have no challengers till 2022

Is it time for 1 of the Shepp clubs to play in the Murray league, when was the last time all three played finals at the same time?

If you look at the om, there are only two Wang teams and two Wodonga, with the worry on north Albury staying in the league, which would also only leave two Albury teams

All Shepp teams have Won a Flag in the past decade. Mooroopna would have been the bigger concern prior to this summer of list building.

We could call it community footy, nightclubs Ringo, there seems like they don't need to comply with any restrictions

Echuca will be a strong contender. Will be a lot tighter than previous years.

As I’ve said before, I’ll believe it when I see it from Euroa. Their first hurdle is to make finals.

ringo1 . State Government have been indicating to me that if we stay on the same course there’ll be more relaxation including of crowd limits before Rnd 1.
If you avail and take much notice to the consistent guidelines from AFL , you couldn’t be positive .
I stopped that on March 20 last year , the first edition and have encouraged others to do likewise .
State governments set the rules on what’s is applicable and why worry about something ( current rules) that are likely to have no affect when games are actually played .
Things are literally changing daily and for the better .

Euroa will make finals. Dont believe Echuca have covered their losses. Despite what people think of Allan and Willis they added structure down forward. They need Morris standing up and a couple of young guys to develop.
