Was this the one you were referring to Ringo, Colonel Jessup had some good lines in that movie, "I eat breakfast 300 yards from 4000 Cubans who are trained to kill me, so don't think for one second that you can come down here, flash your badge, and make me nervous."

Happy and Shooter's version isn't bad either!!

Yeah thats the one Hank-love it. Gee you must be flat out! watching films, big footy, facebook etc:D

Might be a tad younger than that I'd have thought , think played 1st year of senior footy in 98 ?

37 - 38 Id think. He is a lot older than me and my first year of senior footy was 98. Age is not so much his issue but his speed, mobility and athletisism that made him a very very good cmfl player seem to have gone going by the game we played against them this season

Is this the Peter Taylor who grew up in the Echuca area, played Pioneers & Diggers in the 90's? If so would be 31 this year.

Hey gg Rochy won the flag in 08 if they had recruited as well as Echuca appear to have you are right , don't forget Echuca spent last year developing, and would be surprised if Henderson didn't continue to develop young blokes in preference to immediate success.
Anyone prepared to give odds on 2011 and 2012 ??
why would they develop more young kids in preference to immediate success this year, you dont go recruit 9 players and spend the money they'd be paying to finish outside top 2.

Developing of kids gives prolonged success rather than just thinking of the short term , I still don't think they would be expecting this next year to be in the best position to win flag maybe 2011, 2012

Echuca would have to be extremely financial if they think they will hold their group together for 3 years. The blokes they have recruited are only mid age players ( mid 20's) with plenty of time left. The kids will come through and the expectation will be that they will also want to be paid if good enough so the player costs will only increase.

With what has been recruited I think you'll find alot of the juniors have to force their way in to the seniors from the reserves through performace which can only strengthen the club. There will be a few who played seniors last year that wont get a look in as the recruits will have taken their place though so always hard to appease 26 "senior" players into 21 spots.

Rochy have picked up a CHF from Barham or Leitchville not sure but somewhere from up there. Dont know his name.
Not going to be easy as Rochy have lost Duescher, Benny A and a few others are still questionable so have to wait and see.

I still expect them to be around the mark but depends what they get to replace the ones leaving.

And Ringo its not persistence its reality that based on recruits Echuca has been able to get. If Rochy picked up the same amount of senior players you blokes have they would be a firm flag favourite in January.
if thats what you base premierships on GG then rochy would have won 2009 by twice as much as they did in 2008. what the g o with benny A:D

With success comes sacrafice GG if you find a good bunch of blokes are steadily employed and are winning games most blokes will stick around....the good blokes will anyway

Who are the nine? We have managed to pick up 7 and a few of those are returning. Its always important to develop kids and they will be getting plenty of opportunities again this year.

Ditto Locky after their recruiting at the start of last year.
Benny A is going to Sunbury and is playing FF out of the square. Replacing Houlihan who has signed with North Bendigo.
squared up to benny a at nig riodens bucks late last year, he can play where ever he wants. as far as lbu recruiting goes pick up olly so far. lost half a dozen echuca blokes to stanhope but thats ok.:)
