Yep, very impressed with Mooroopna, they look for each other, find targets, tackle and block well, good midfield, good team balance with size and runners, and seem to be very well coached.

IMO will def. be there on GF day, only question who will they play for mine. (probably Echuca).

Agree, Mooroopna and Echuca are the two strong form sides of the comp. Mansfield have suprised with their consistency and really deserve to be there. Swans have fallen away with a couple of losses in a row and tough games ahead with Echuca, Mooroopna and Kyabram over the next month which may seal their fate one way or the other. United has won a few on end but have not been convincing, they have been disappointing and have a tough month with all the top sides to play. The Dees probably have the toughest run home, but if they can win most of them they would be in good form. I really believe that the top 4 at the moment are the four best sides in the comp and are rightfully placed at this stage. The next month could be interesting and there is a bit of a long jam starting to build from positions 2 to 7. Remember that with a final 6 anything can happen. Seymour won it from 5th or 6th last year.

yeah realy agree with that they just look so good yeh i think that either ky or echuca will be their agaisnt them in saying they played realy well on the weekend only looked like a few kids from shepp realy tried

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

wat about ky boys? will definatly be a strong finals contender with a strong run home working them into form at the right end of the season. have been cut down with injury all year and havnt played a game with a full list yet. will jackson has been worked into form after his broken leg and harley orchard will be a massive in come finals time...how was he overlooked for bushies??? star players in l ogden and j young have been performing and big habib demasi has been dominating through stoppages. with a potent midfield and lethal forward mix the only thing that may work against them at the end of the year would be the pestering m walsh or a consitent run of hangovers with the number of 18th's around ky increasing consistently in august and september. WATCH OUT BOYS HERE THEY COME!!!

ky defeated both of these sides and have only been beaten once when it was a wet and sloppy day. i would say they would be the best side in the league by far if they played to their capabilities which i dont think they have done so this season.

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Whilst Ky might not have had a full side all year neither has Echuca and they have been winning easily over their opponents. With the ins coming back from the seniors and those returning who go to school in Melbourne their side will look pretty potent come finals time. Who have Mooroopna got to come back into their side for finals that aren't playing with them at the moment?
No doubt all sides will load up their teams come finals which makes season form abit of a lottery.

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Couple of big games this weekend with Seymour vs Ky at Seymour and Swans vs Echuca. Really important for Swans and Seymour. I'm tipping Kyabram to get over Seymour and Echuca to win against Swans. What do other's think?

That would help your side wouldnt it?

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Of course it would, it would also be usefull for those sides still hoping to have a crack in finals like Bears and Tatura. At the end of the day we still have to win 5 out of our next 6 to really have a chance. Big log jam taking place with spots 3 down to 8 and some sides have a lot easier run home then we do. So if they lose a couple and we win a couple then we put a couple of games between us and the rest. Intersted in seeing if Seymour have any assumption boys home over the next 2 weeks.

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Interesting to see today's results. Echuca keeping Swans scoreless in the last quarter to win by 7 points and Ky comfortably over Seymour. I think that even this far out the final 6 is settled. Echuca, ky, Mooroopna,United Mansfield and Swans. What are others opinions on this?Interesting to see Ky's team list for today. Only 19 players? What is going on here? Swans must be kicking themselves for letting a great opportunity to defeat a quality side go slipping by. Could come back to hurt them come final 6 positions at the end of the year. This only reinforces to other sides what a dangerous side the Swans they can be. No side can take them lightly.
