Is there any other sport or league where the fans have to guess what the crackpots on charge will do, 6 days out?

In 2010, St Kilda wore their clash in the GF, but if they won, they were going to change into their home jumpers for the presentation, since no photo exists of them holding the cup in their own jumpers (since most of them swapped jumpers with Collingwood players prior to the '66 presentation)
This wasn't an issue for the Tigers in 2017, as there were already multiple cases of them with the cup in their own jumpers (and indeed, there have been two more cases after 2017)
Since both Sydney and Brisbane have won at least two premierships in their traditional jumper, one of them wearing a clash on Saturday should not be an issue.

Well, turns out both teams wore their full home kits against each other as recently as 2022.
(honestly what an amazing thing to be able to find out easily thanks to Mero )
Pretty surprising that the AFL allows this match up, as it pretty clearly goes against their rules on dark colours and there's always a clash kit worn in the QClash.
It's not the worst clash, but personally I think it warrants a team in a clash strip.

Perfect would be Swans home against Lions clash with maroon shorts, would be a lovely combo.
Somewhat realistically though, id like to see the Swans in their Vic jumper with red shorts, and Lions in their home.

Our women's team have a similar jumper, it looks beautiful paired with maroon shorts.
Just came to post the aflw jumper and shorts being worn right now by lions as per post above Hopefully the afl head honchos are meeting now and look up at screen and go THAT

Brisbane in all home will be fine regardless of time of day.
Slightest chance the AFL will say wear the Gold Bears, maroon shorts if you like too.
But expect full home all round

Sponsors will demand the full home for both teams. Club Marketing will demand full home. No way will they change, especially to Bears or South

So according to that, no club ever has or ever will wear a clash in a Grand Final. That's such a Carlton way of thinking.

I think in the case of this matchup there's not enough of a clash to outweigh the value of both teams being able to win in their preferred kit.
IMO this wasn't the case in 2017, but the AFL have gotten it wrong sometimes particularly 2019 GWS should have never been in their clash.
I always think the 2013 Grand Final is one of the weirdest looking match ups.
Although I think Freo were given the choice to wear their home jumper with white shorts and chose to wear the full clash.

Yeah I've always wondered why GWS wore the clash, despite now wearing orange against the tigers and havign worn orange against the pies who probably posed a bigger clash at the time

I don't mean this disrespectfully, but do you need to have vision problems to believe there's any issue with Brisbane vs Sydney in their home kits? There is not a single problem with it.
Adding white shorts to Brisbane would probably make it worse if I'm honest.
I remember the uniform issue with the 2013 Grand Final. Fremantle was told that they could wear their purple home jumper with white shorts. However they choose to wear the white jumper with white shorts. It was a club choice, not an AFL one.
Do we have footage of the Lions wearing white shorts and home jumpers against the Swans. Do we have proof that it would be made worse with white shorts.
Actually, using the Geelong rule where they wear white shorts most of the time, wouldn't Sydney have to wear white shorts if the Lions wearing white shorts would make the clash worse.

It's been confirmed, both teams in home jumpers and home shorts.
Imo this is gonna be one of the uglier grand final match ups.
It’s not about literally not being able to differentiate between the two teams (however colour blind people might genuinely not be able to in this circumstance), as much as it is about having a clear contrast.
