Thomas had a huge blue with Mark Robinson last week, thus the references to ego's and the precious nature of some AFL people, Thomas made up his mind then and there.

Robinson didn't like them doing a mock good call bad call about Robinson last week and Robbo cracked the s hits and both he and Thomas had a huge verbal. Robbo doesn't mind confrontation as his stoush at the Rose Hotel Fitzroy front bar proved to be a beauty a few weeks back with a fellow journo. Aaah the joys of beer and what it will do to bring on that dutch courage!

Sam doesn't have any self discipline - he wouldn't be able to stay on topic for more than 30 seconds. The footy show has ruined him for serious discussion. Pity, because he used to be very good before "light entertainment".

I agree to a point, if they could reel him in and ask him to be insightful in his own inimitable way then he could come across extremely well.

I used to really like him in his time at the Saints, he was intelligent, vibrant and just an all-round likeable bloke. But these past few years, it's like the changes in his physical body have manifested through his personality. He seems sluggish, angry, and is the sourest ****** going round. I get the love-in in this thread about the way he "calls it like it is", and I admit that is refreshing, but the way he goes about it is what rubs me the wrong way. And say what you want about Caro, but the way he speaks to her would be labeled bullying in almost any other workplace.

Hope he comes back to something for next season. Thought he was given a raw deal on SEN.

GT has a really unique outlook on the game.

Alot of people forget he was one of the pioneers of 'Leadership Groups' and I think his rotational captaincy idea was revolutionary and probably too forward thinking for his time. Much like Sam Newman and Dermie, people have this perception of GT that stopped alot of them taking him seriously when, if you really payed attention, you'd see that they have some great insights. You might not agree with everything they say but they always present fairly well thought out arguements.

Agree with those who say FC will be unwatchable now. It's basically turned into a Caro v Hutchy bitch-fest anyway.

Sam is a very smart man who decided to prostitute himself by picking on those less fortunate than he is, and taking cheap commercially driven shots at other personalities just to make a dollar. He has no credibility as a result.

Dermie is the classic example of somebody suffering from hyper verbosity, all in the name of making himself sound more intelligent than he really is. Sure, he has some good insights into an industry he's been intimate with for a few decades, though it would be a disgrace to himself if he didn't. Really, he's just a bogan that was a good footballer, but a bit of a w***er, albeit a popular one.

Thomas is another intelligent man, much like Newman in some respects. The key difference is that Thomas knows he can make a solid quid outside of football and football media, and he doesn't care if he has to role the dice to prove he can. It's a shame he's moving on, but really, I couldn't give a shit either way.

definitely the best thing about FC. I can't stand lyon, caro and hutchy. his dry humour was gold at times against caro and hutchy, went straight over their heads.
At least grant thomas said what he thought unlike the rest of the clones out there.

Yup, didnt care if he offended precious girly types like Caro & Lyon, called it as it is.

Unless someone like Maclure joins the panel I cant see myself watching that theatre again.

Former St Kilda coach Grant Thomas has hit out at the club for letting star utility Brendon Goddard walk to Essendon as a free agent.​

"On the surface it seems Saints were happy to release him. I'm somewhat perplexed."​
