With a bit of rain up in Brisbane this week i was thinking of the old wet weather footy. A few old footy words came to mind and i wondered what other words have been lost over the year, so hear are a few we don't hear very often anymore

mudlark
glue pot
worm burner
grass cutter
screw punt
banana kick

"Hip and shoulder" is now "charging, 3 to 4 weeks".

I agree. "Jesaulenko You Beauty!!" is now 'Hands in the back.'

Or how about; "There's Hocking, courageous as ever, burrowing into the pack", which is now 'Holding the ball'.

use to sit next to a woman and her family at the bears/lions and she would scream chewy on your boot everytime the opposition had a kick for goal, we sat on the fifty metre line and she would even do it when they were kicking for goal at the other end. Worse thing was that when they kicked a behind she took credit for it. We all use to call her chewy
