Let's rub a little more salt into the wound of the filth - not only no players from their rabble selected in the AFL Team of the Century, but also no wobble players selected in the Indigenous Team of the Century!
Surely one or both of these teams selected have a second starting 22 that the filth can get a player into?

I can't wait to tell him this fact after work today!

Thx ODN ... that made me laugh heartily. Also thx to the poster who posted about the 72 Grannie ... slightly before my time but great to read about!

An amazing grand final it was...the tigers scored 150 points, equalled the previous highest grand final score but they never looked like winning that game.

It was before my time (it happened before I was even born lol)

But I have watched the fight between Hitman Hagler and Hearns.

That first 3 minutes (1st round) was something special!

... another I forgot to mention was Fernando Vargas vs. Ricardo Mayorga (2002):

What about the first fight between Jeff Fenich and Azuma Nelson in Las Vegas before the Tyson fight (do not remember who he was fighting was it Evander?) ... having recreationally boxed for 10 years seeing what Fenich did in that ring, energy wise, was unbelievable. The cr@p decision I think destroyed him as a boxer ... he was never the same after that.

Was at the Burvale for that fight.......was touch and go whether I'd get out alive......fair dinkum rioted when the decision was announced.....full glasses of beer thrown at the large screen and all :thumbsu:

Agreed - worst. decision. ever

Akin to that of the Trinidad vs. De La Hoya decision.

Have a watch of Bowe vs. Galota (the first fight) ... now THAT was a riot!

Well 0 selections is not too hard to beat. Incredibly of the 12 elder statesmen clubs of the competition, Collingwood were the only ones not to have a selection. Allowing for multiple club players, represented clubs were:

6 Carlton
4 Geelong
4 Richmond
2 Hawthorn
2 Essendon
2 Sth Melb/Sydney
2 Fitzroy
2 St Kilda
1 North Melbourne
1 Footscray
1 Melbourne
0 Collingwood

If only they could have slipped a University player in there, that would have really pissed them off.

Anthony The Man Mundine v Reality.

I think that Mundine lost that one...

All I can say is that his dad was a much better boxer and didnt need to have his opponents hand picked.

The few times Anthony has gone up against real boxers he has had his arse handed to him.

Not overly surprising i'd have thought given they didn't recruit any indigenous players last century. ;)

This is 'greatest fued' not 'wettest dream' Q-man. :p

No... the wettest dream would be Kouta bursting through the pack, single handed pickup, dishing off to Judd who speeds away from the pack and nails Sticks on the chest laces out...

Excuse me... I just need to be alone for a while... a long while...

Hehe I can see this is going to be a humorous thread.

Actual Carlton people in blues (pun intended) back in the late 70's Rod Ashman sat newish (about 6 weeks into the job iirc) coach Ian Stewart on his bum at training one night and Stewart was gone very shortly after it, wouldn't be surprised if he had already lost the majority of the team in those 6 short weeks. The story at the time was that Ashman requested leave from training to attend his fathers funeral and Stewart said no, leading to the stouch. Not sure how true it is but that was what was going around at the time.

I heard a similar story but it was Bruce Doull's grand father, not Rod Ashman
