We've had experienced guys in the defence for the young guys to learn from playing alongside - the Chad, Gillham, Shaw & Patfull. In the midfield the guys started learning by playing alongside McDonald, Power and now Griffen. Davis and Ward were even slightly ahead of the others. But our forward line has always had to learn on their own.

12 months of Stevie J playing and organising the forward line, teaching the running patterns etc.

PRICELESS.

Play Stevie j just in a FP he will kick 35+ goals next year and the experience he will give to the young fellas lets get him

We've always looked so much better up front after one of Dermie's visits. Could SJ have the same impact, but in a more enduring way? Would he have a positive impact on Sunshine staying longer term? Tantalising...

Loving the way your club isn't buckling to Collingwood, you guys need to make a stand and show you aren't to be pushed over, get the best offer you can for AT, and make Collingwood pay trough the backside for him.

You guys are probably my second favourite team to watch, you guys are developing a good culture with a good bunch of talented kids and coaches, should see success in the not to distant future I think. :thumbsu::footy:

Can someone explain our list as its explained in our list management section.
In 2015
:We had 46 senior players and 1rookie.
:We were allowed 48 players and 9 rookies.
Is it correct we chose not to have 9 rookie players this year?.

In 2016
:Allowed 46 and 9 rookies

In 2017
:Allowed 44 and 9rookies.
So why is it reported we have to shed players all the time?.Its not until 2017 yeah?.Why aren't we utilising our rookies.Has it been used to pay senior players extra and therefore help retain them?

Not much point in having a lot of rookies when the NEAFL is substandard and they cant get AFL exposure.

I hope the Treloar trade negotiations continue for a fair while, just to keep reading the Collingwood meltdowns in the Drafts board. I'm not even going to venture into their club board.

On Stevie J, I hope the emphasis is on the coaching, rather than the playing.
They are nothing compared to the Freo melts with Cam. Classic stuff. Almost stKilda like.

We were undersized in defence and ruck at times. Was thinking a mature age ruck from WAFl or Sanfl etc could have been handy when Goldstein set a record for hitouts and Corr was undersized against the monster forwards.

I'm all for Steve J. He is widely regarded at the Cattery to be hands-down a senior coach. If he has got those opinions from so many champions we'd be silly not to get him. He can run around next year (on-field) telling where the KPPs to run or protect contests and the smaller blokes like WHE, Smith, Pickett, Palmer to position themselves or demand the ball themselves. In-fact I think we are a little too predictable going to our big men all the time entering forward. You only have to look at Hawthorn and WCE who have their mids honouring leads from small and medium forwards and not just having them kick crumbing and snap goals or running into 50. We need much more structure especially if we consider ourselves finals prospects.
