It really sounds like he will be coaching the bombers next year, as much as I don't want him to go, if my team was coachless, I'd love Hardwick to coach my club.

So if Hardwick goes, who will we get? Chris Bond, Chris Scott, Shaun Rehn, Paul Hudson or Richie Vandenberg?

What ya reckon guys?

Kevin Sheedy is out of a job. ;)

Bomber has the gig strait after the cats lose the GF:D

Let him go , really.

He is not a Hawthorn person nor is Viney or Clarkson for that matter.

Clarkson will hang around for as long as he is needed but Viney and Hardwick couldn't give a toss, they are there for their own self betterment until something else comes along.

Hardwick and Viney both applied for jobs outside of the Hawks which tells me they don't have their heart in it completely at the Hawks, ready to jump ship at a moments notice.

Sure they are responsible for the way the young Hawks are playing with their in your face football but i'd like to see genuine Hawk men at the helm.

Gary Ayres springs to mind and is One who'd slot straight in with possibly Vanders as One of his assistants.

Ayrsey is waisted at Essendon what a waste of talent, he should come home, he could be assistant to AC until he expires.

Voss would make a great assistant at the Hawks also, he was right behind us in the finals this year and was jumping out of his seat when we done the Crows, and very dissapointed when we lost to the Roos, maybe he knows something we don't , i'd adopt him because of his loyalty values, he is all class.

Might i mention Lethal, what Hawk wouldn't want him back in the fold where he truly belongs.

How about Lethal head coach with Voss and Ayres as his assistants, now that gets me going.

I dont think so. I think he will stay at hawthorn. We are heading in a good direction and people love him.

ben dixon said on the good oil today with mark doran that he wants to stay in footbal maybe a sa assistant or a foward coach or something like that.....

he may have lost his skills over the years but still gave our fowards some good advice........

you cant realy say that about viney, he pulled out of the race for the melbourne job coz he wanted to finish what he started at hawthorn.....

maybe hardwick is chasing a career for himslef ahead of hawthorn....

I can't believe that someone mentioned bringing back Gary Ayres as a coach!

He is and has been one of the worst coaches in the AFL. We don't want him here. Look how terrible Essendon's defence has been this year.

This is completely stupid.

We should get rid of Hardwick and Viney because they applied for a head coach jobs with other clubs?

We should bring in ex-Hawks like Ayres because they were Hawks?

Good God.

But for 50% of his career he was part of a forward structure that wasn't good enough to win games!?

How good can his advice be?

That wasnt Dixon's fault though, it was the coaches. Just because Dixon didnt play in a forward line that utielised talent doesnt mean he does not have original ideas in how to help our current structure or our players.

I heard Clarko say he was fully supportive of Viney going for the Melbourne job as he would be of Hardwick for Essendon.

Of course AC, the club and staff would be keen for him to stay yet you cant keep a guy down who wants to pursue a Senior coaching role.

Exactly esspecially after Clarko did the same. Like I said every assistant coach is in the game to get a head job eventually.
