Hardwick outcoaches again

Love the way we altered our game plan to a chip-chip style any time they got a few goals in a row. Completely slowed the game down and allowed us to get control again.

This was the pleasing aspect of the game for me.Composure good to see from us.Chocco no doubt would of helped big time in match ups etc yesterday to.

We controlled the game.... a danger game that would have seen the club under the pump if we had of lost or came close to losing. Was a great perfromance and a pretty evenperformance around the ground.

Still we completely dominated the first QTR .... especially the first 10 minutes and again failed to capitalise on the scoreboard. ...but I reckon we cleaned up a fair bit and got alot smarter going forward yesterday.....

Nah we put tuck back on the ground injured and when the game was over. He definitely was out coached and just outclassed in that area
I think you'll find the choice to get back on the ground was Tucks, not Hardwicks.

The number of ex port personnel we have on our coaching list may have also contributed to dimma's knowledge, re the port line up, with their strengths and weaknesses .

Major increase in skills from last week, took the game on and went with the first option most of the day.
Lids rotating hbf/mid worked well.
McGuane down back at stages.
Beating another team we would have had pencilled in.
Freo last 2 minutes still his biggest blemish thus far.

He keeps getting us up again after certain areas drop off, we dont have depth, and have had injuries which we cant afford.
At 4-3 we're/he's going along ok so far.

My thread was a not so thinly veiled swipe at the opposite thread, but it's good to see people actually acknowledging a good coaching effort.
We tend to look at the glass half empty as Tigers way too much, which is understandable.

To be honest I don't think there were any great moves or tactics from the coaches box yesterday, I just think we have more talent than Port across the board and it showed.
Soon as Port got a run on we slowed the game right down and it killed the crowd and their momentum, thought it was very smart.

Dimma outcoached Hinkley yesterday. Game plan worked a treat and our match ups all succeeded.
Certainly wasn't 'outcoached again' was he?
Took Port right out of their comfort zone and didn't allow them to play the game they wanted to. Was noticeable how we slowed the game down as soon as Port looked like getting a run on and then once the game was back on our terms we opened them up and were able to move the ball quickly and with accuracy down the ground. It would be interesting to see the opinion of the Hardwick bashers some of who were talking up Port as little as 2 weeks ago as having gone past us.

I think you ll find we locked down on a few of the Port mids that have been racking them up in recent weeks, check Boak, Hartlett wines and co form yesterday and perhaps reconsider that remark

People do realise that Port were 2/1 on to beat us? I.e $1.50.
We blew out to more than $2.60 pre game.
Tipsters I read seemed to be overwhelmingly on Ports side ie The Age was 15-9 Ports way and our 9 included Richo, Caro and the village idiot ( not Walls).
So when the discussion tomorrow invariably turns to "ports shithouse anyway" just remember that the Friday consensus was anything but that.
In fact we were the whingeing sooks and were going to get belted over there.
In fact in think Maclure called it a certainty. Please let them replay that one.

How about some perspective...we are not finals material, we are rebuilding. We are also the 2nd youngest team in the competition behind GWS only by 20 odd days.We bottomed out last year and rebuilding slowly. We have definitely improved and will continue to improve. The selections were baffling as i believe we lost the match on the table anyway.Daniel Stewart is the worst player in the AFL and we just didnt have the talls to compete with you guys.Whoever said we are finals or top 4 material has NFI.I will be happy to see progress on and off the field, which we are definitely achieving. Richmond have 2 years on us and that showed last night.Goodluck to you blokes for the rest of the season.
