Who would leak anything to Tom Morris…
Phone tapping for sure.

And I doubt On the couch is “live” … when they were after AFL360

Timing is a bit weird but guess he is thinking Richmond probably need a reset and he doesn't have the motivation or energy to put another 4 or 5 years into a flag campaign.

Wonder how much of this is related to the reduced soft cap making it hard to retain and attract quality assistant coaches.

Anyway, champion coach. Did it the hard way, will never forget his resigned laugh in his first season when the Tigers were 0-8. That he pulled them out of winning what looked like a certain wooden spoon made me think he had what it takes.

I doubt he’d go to Carlton or North, their home ground’s Marvel. On a serious note though, he’s done an incredible job at Richmond and deserves to go out on his terms.

The timing on this is extremely weird...
The writing has been on the wall for a while now… extremely arrogant and belittling in pressers with journalists and lashing out unprofessionally. He has looked a man under immense stress and having internal issues he is dealing with that are bubbling on the surface.

I imagine a lot has been going on in his personal life and behind closed doors that has lead to the right decision to step aside.

Hahaha why are Port fans so desp to * off Hinkley when they're hummin
. they've had great home and away seasons only to squander it come finals before. They see the same story playing out again

Surprising news, I thought if any coach was going to quit this week it would have been Simpson at West Coast after that horror loss to Hawthorn.

Richmond probably won't be playing finals now but they were still playing some decent footy so it's strange timing to say the least.

You would have to think that there is something more to his decision to quit at this time than just on field football related reasons.

He has had a good run though and with 3 flags he will have to go down as one of Richmond's best ever coaches, they were a rabble when he took over.
He probably read the Richmond board autopsy thread

I think it's become abundantly clear that Hardwick is nothing without his main man by his side.
