I just don't see his coaching tenure as successful given the resources afforded him and that his most successful year was the year he stepped back and let assistants do a bit more

Really wish he was McCrae at the club in waiting with his time coming now

I would actually rather Ken Hinkley who I feel is strangely seen as less of a coach by the PA ferals than Buckley.

As good as McRae has been, he's taken the Richmond style and applied it to a new group. It's not going to be nearly as effective as Richmond when we already play and now that style.

You need fresh ideas.

Floored by the news, without details cant really assume anything - but whoever's decision it was to terminate this arrangement 10 games after trading away 2 years worth of draft picks away - will definitely have some explaining to do. This stinks of a shitshow. It actually might be worse than i ever painted it to be, imagine that.

There was a period coll played well under Buckley however faulted badly in his last 18mths and the fact that with largely same playing group are now nearly unbeatable is a bit of an indictment on him, harsh but that’s face value , he’s not the first bloke I’d like to see coach us but not the last either

I just think bucks lost his way, a bit like
Dimma did for a while, he had the pies playing an exhilarating style as well, lost a GF, lost a prelim, got spooked, tried to instil a more defensive style(like Dimma did after the Carlton EF loss) and went downhill from there. I’d love to see him go through the process. If he’s found wanting after that - no issues from me

If Dimma doesn't believe this group can compete then I think that is the basis of a strong argument that nobody could get this group to compete and it is time to start again ... I think with a young person of character, even an untried individual such as a Kane Lambert

Time to once again set out on a journey, and enjoy it, recommit to Dimma's early mantra of improving every week. I don't think the current list has been assembled to build for the future, and it will have to be reshaped, perhaps significantly. Nobody laughing anymore at Collingwood's list management "disasters".

No doubt we will, we are one of the wealthiest clubs in the competition, stable board and a great culture.
I think all the protocols will be in place to ensure a process similar to what Collingwood went through to identify McCrae.
