Poppy and our 3rd rounder to GWS (40 ish)
Kennedy and their 3rd rounder back (50 ish).
We'll be paying approx 70% of Poppy's contract for 2 years. Have a venture over to the Matthew Kennedy thread to get the full explanation.

Trade talk a while back about Carlton open to swapping Boekhorst for Balic. Not sure if it would also involve a swap of picks, or who would drive the bargain. Boekhorst is the better performed player so far, but Balic still has the potential and wants to move home. Could be a win-win trade. Anyone heard anything more?

IMO whoever gets Balic gets a great bargain no way this works out as a win for Freo , saying Boekhorst is the better performed player is fair enough but that is purely because of the circumstances of Balics 2017 when he has played ( at WAFL level ) he has 3 or 4BOG's out of 15 or so games that sort of impact by a young player is extremely rare

Freo are totally over a barrel with Balic not only because he wants to go home but we haven't had the chance to showcase his talent either hopefully he has a bit of goodwill towards us and helps us get something for him but a win / win scenario is very unlikely

Rather Picks than players who only add to depth or is only a marginable upgrade on players we already have.

But yeah, let's focus on the deal last year instead in terms of 'balancing out' previous trades.
