...according to Channel 9 - he is keen to join the weagles. Imagine if we could trump them and convince him to come to us.

What would we have to give up (to Geelong), and pay him, to make him change his mind? Lots on both counts I would think...

We've got a Geelong local on our list who was also a first round draft pick. Sounds like a fair trade.

Nah, we don't want players who are blabbing about which team they want to go to before the next season even starts.

Stay classy Harry :thumbsu:

Edit: Just read on the Geelong board that the news piece was about Harry having been 'overheard' talking about wanting to end his career in Perth and wants to replace Glass when he retires? So not even a direct quote? Apologies Harry. You suck Channel Nine.

if he wants to replace glass, it'd be in the next couple of years, surely. maybe he's still cut we knocked them out last season.

Mitch Brown (of the weagle variety) will be pleased to hear that.

I'm sure he was misheard. Probably said he wanted to smash glass In Perth before he retired at the end of next season.

He'd probably be getting close to free agency by the time his contract expires, but then this looks to be a storm in a teacup and typical offseason bollocks so, disregard.

god im sick of every w***er wanting to go to the eagles. Life would be easier if that club didnt exist, it may affect the illisit drug industry, but that would be a hit im willing to take

It's funny how they all nominate coming to the Eagles when half the team wants out.

Didn't they learn from Chris Judd?

always the poor cousin, even if we are financially well off..... the first 16 years of just plain mediocrity and ineptittude is hurting when it comes to recruitment.... Thank christ we managed to snare Ross Lyon. now that can all change.... It would be worth getting ryan crowley over to see any potential targets and get him to talk about how good life under ross lyon is and how the club is faring

Quite a frustrating trait in humanity, the inability to change ones thinking when circumstances change. A lot of people simply don't have/use a refresh button.

impressions tend to last, there is no doubt about that. Which makes it all the more galling when good young freo-supporting lads like brad shepherd end up at west coast. alas, we cant have them all.... things will change with sustained success. Hopefully 2013 can be the first eyar we play back to back finals, and can build on the good work done in 2012.... the more success, the more support, the more appealing the club becomes for recuits.

Have we not told you before? Put simply, you cannot, under any circumstances, trust someone that comes from the bad side of town - more commonly referred to as East Freo (very common actually).
It's in their breeding.
Now, good South boys like Mr Farmer and Mr Bell, those fine, upstanding citizens return home with a desire to grace god's own playing arena and lap up the adulation of the knowledgable fans at the port - the spiritual home of football.
So, Harry - and what sort of a name is that anyway princess - go join the powder puffs down the road.
Men only at Freo.

If you could only wish to continually produce the calibre of players we do year after year - Nursery of champions.

Funny - I had this very conversation with my Gummies supporting son last night... Mainy, Cuzzy, Kerry, Chicky - all products of East Freo, all weagles - and yes, they could / can all play. Oh, and of course, they are all fine, upstanding, well-respected citizens to boot... ;)
