No.

From AFC.com.au...

The Crows made five changes to the 2006 list, removing Matthew Clarke (retired), Ben Hart, Hayden Skipworth, Alan Obst and Chad Gibson (delisted).

The club’s four 2006 rookies have also been released.

finally some clarity about the Rookies....

Filling of the 4 available spots this year is going to be criticial given that 2 of them are de facto main list players.

This is a question that I have been pondering for a couple of weeks now. How smart would it be for a club to go for a couple of ready made players, as opposed to youngsters with some potential?!

I know we will effectively be going into the season with 38 players BUT that is the actual limit for a club that doesn't have veterans. At how much disadvantage will we really be if we went with 4 youngsters with potential that might not be ready to go straight away?!

I would rather go for youngsters like we did in 2001 when we picked up Rutten, Mattner, Bock and Thomas. That was the last "superdraft" and we did better out of the PSD and Rookie Drafts than we did in the main draft.

I would prefer we went with 4 youngsters with raw potential and if we come to actually rely on any of the rookie listed players getting a game, then I can pretty much guarantee that something must have gone horribly wrong during the season.

I would rather back in the likes of Pfeiffer, Douglas, Knights, Maric, Meesen etc.. than go for someone who can play straight away just for the sake of it.

I guess you cant really make a decision until you see the outcomes of the National Draft. I agree with you, especially if a handful of gems are left over.

p.s. - Is there two Knights' ?

Exactly, if the players we pick up in the rookie draft are ready to go and play AFL football; why are they still on a rookie list.

Pick up 4 players, who have potential but are yet to fulfil it and have room to grow as a player,

Agree Stiff with you thoughts - but when you analyse it and break it right down - the rule needs to be.....

Draft the best talent left that qualifies for Rookie status.

If we try to outsmart ourselves with obscure hidden talent - we may regret it.

Monday Knights (yes, yes I no), Tuesday Knights :D :D

Reasonably dissapointed about Bonaddio's delisting, had a brilliant football name and I was really looking forward to screaming it at a game one day.

He had potential unfortunatly the club had very little say in the end. He was going back to Melbourne no matter what. He was a fairly smart guy and I don't think he considered football as a career.

So I guess the story about him crying after a westies game, (because he realised that the dream was over) was untrue:confused:

As I said before, he gave every indication that was very disappointed about being cut. He's now signed to play with Port Melbourne. Once he was cut, he just wanted to go home, as you would expect.

If he didn't consider football as a career, why did he enter his name in the draft and move to Adelaide in the first place??

Many folks in football wouldn't consider it what they are going to make their life's work - you can be committed to giving football a go, while still recognizing that footy will last maybe ten years, and your working life will be forty.

Bonnas came from a very close italian family in melbourne and was VERY homesick. He was not happy in SA and couldn't wait to get home. Got treated well by AFC and the lads, but just couldnt play his best footy when his head was in a bad space.

Taken from safooty:

"Port has already recruited dual Liston Trophy winner David Robbins, ex-Port Power Rookie Tim Looby, and former Geelong and Sydney Swans rover David Spriggs, as well key forward Adrian Bonaddio, who returns to the club after spending a year on Adelaide’s Rookie list."

Its an article...no source given. Port is Port Melbourne, as Roosterlad said.

Bonaddio was going to leave even if he was not cut becuase he was very homesick. Trust me his cousin goes to my school
