Has Paul Roos simply echoed what most people are thinking about Carlton. Basically they have undertaken a sustained course of manipulating the system repeatedly.

My view is mixed. I feel the rules are in place and it's up to the AFL to change them if they want to avoid these types of situations.

Behind the scenes, do people think most club officials are as disgusted at Carlton as Roos? It seems it has brought a lot of people to boiling point. Roos reaction was quite stunning, followed by Nisbett.

There seems to be an enormous amount of negative emotion about Carlton at present. When Judd rocks up next year, it will be fascinating to see if any snide remarks are made by coaches and fans alike.

Carlton has lost the Football world's respect, but I don't think Carlton cares about the views of the football world.

Isn't that the same approach they had just before they got caught for systematic & serial cheating of the salary cap rules????

I can't see how!!

They have played within the rules that are currently applicable.

Whether they tanked or not is irrelevant........PROVE IT!!

The Eagles blinked and Carlton pounced and shafted them.

It may be immoral, but show me a big business deal that is bounded by the guidelines of morality.

Well done Blues:thumbsu::)

If they make the finals next year why should they care what the perception is?

I think the whole tanking thing has been blown up a bit - it's been happening ever since the PP was introduced, but probably magnified this year due to the farcical Round 22 game.

Stick your respect up your arse.

Premierships > Respect.
ok then

Geelong - when the club decided that time was up for its for former capatain, it gives him the opportunity to retire with dignity or be traded to another club. He chose to be traded and Geelong helped him get there.

Carlton - when the club decided that time was up for its for former capatain, it waited till after the trade period, then went to his manager before skulking off to Europe in a plane. Bunch of cowards.

You know nothing of premierships or repect. You are where you deserve to be.

Exactly right. We are simply playing the system better than anyone else- and the supporters of other clubs who havent hate it becasue their team is about to get passed by Carlton.

Suck it up you whinging bunch of no-hopers.

Because you know they didn't discuss him with other clubs. Spot at Geelong for him, was there?

You know this for a fact do you?
Fact of the matter is that Lance was shopped around during trade week, and none of the other 15 clubs wanted him. What else could Carlton do? Trade him to another club for a pick in the '90's? Oh hang on, Geelong already did that.

Definately.

I also don't think they will be successful in 08 or 09. They still need experience for the young kids and some of them are taking a while to show signs that they're up to it.

Still they're Carlton and the posts by their supporters on this board show them for who they really are. Arrogant. This doesn't win premierships. It's like Fevola, could be the best player in the comp but for the problem that effects the entire club. Sill Ratten is a man that demands respect. Hopefully he will sort out all that crap.

And from a Richmond supporter? There I was thinking you were all stupid.

Good post. Last bit was dead on the money.

What the **** do you care, idiot? Don't cry any crocodile tears over us. Bombers are about to spend an extended period in the basement - you don't hear me snivelling "hopefully, they will be able to get back up the ladder". Because I don't give a ****. We are Carlton - we couldn't give a **** what anyone thinks of us. We win flags and we will be winning some more soon. That's it.
