This is true. No one really cares about anyone other than the players on your own list.

They do ...but they very rarely claim one of their kids to be the most eagerly anticipated debut ever .
This really should be on the Essendon board...Nicnat, Watts etc were all eagerly anticipated.

Yeah the hype around Watts was pretty suffocating; it was hard not to feel a bit sorry for him, he was built up that much.

And then to get smashed the way he did in his first game- was hard not to feel a bit sorry for him.

Very nice of that Eastern States club to take care of, and develop, him for a few years before he comes home to the West.

He seriously is worth all the hype from last year and then some.

Keep in mind I'm not asking how good you think he is or will be. Only if a player at your club has generated as much hype amongst your fans before they've even played a game as Joe has amongst Essendon fans.

And yes, the Collingwood board talks up a new guy every year beyond the abilty of any person to play....but, yeah, that is what we do! (then we trash them to the max )

Since boncer is actually asking about other players, I wouldn't have thought so.

For example, in your case, has there been a Hawthorn player whose arrival/debut has been as hyped by Hawthorn fans as much as we've done with Daniher? Franklin or Roughead might be two who fit the bill.
