Sounds normal to me. Are you saying you go to weddings where the bride's old man doesn't chuck a dude out the window??

lol, it was a very vain occasion. Most ridiculous birthday "party" I've ever been too. Unfortunately I just left after the boy was thrown out the window, I missed the best part of the night. The old man is most likely in jail now.

YDon't really intend on doing anything big for my 21st either. Its just a waste of money and I can have equally as epic times at other peoples parties :D

So you're willing to drink other people's booze for a year but won't be putting any on yourself?

You wouldn't have gotten an invite to my 21st, that's for sure.

since forever l have got stuff all for my birthday its close the Christmas.so here you go this is for your birthday and Christmas gee thanks.and having a birthday near chrismas freinds go on holidays etc l really don't care and haven't for years. l find it better to enjoy some else's/mates birthday party.

I have always hated my birthday. Mostly due to it being on Christmas day. As a kid the day was always about going from house to house seeing family and doing the Christmas thing.

Some other birthdays people might hate:

February 29 - OK, it is a novelty, but all the jokes about being a quarter of one's age must get tiresome after a while.

April 1 - Obvious reasons.

December 31 - Two people I used to work with were born on that day, and copped all this crap at school about being the youngest in the class.

ohnoez patsmith isn't gonna invite me to his 21st :(

Few years too late mate. But as someone who has relatively recently been through their '21st year', people like you are a disgrace. Rock up when the piss is provided, but don't give anything back to your mates.

I once went to a 16th birthday of this girl I went to school with. It was virtually a wedding without the husband, she wore this white dress and everything and it was at a reception centre. Her father threw this boy out the window too.

Personally I can't stand my birthday either.

I want to hear this story. I don't much like my birthday though I do like presents. For me it tends to be that I feel like I should be having such an amazing day and stuff then it's just a normal day.

What the hell, are we celebrating Sweet Sixteen in Australia now? Never really understood that one...

I don't really care either way. For me it's a good way to get a decent meal and maybe a few drinks (plus whatever may follow...) once a year.

hated my birthday for a few years now, i dont see the big deal and plus for a few years i just kept getting crap presents from family. spent last years birthday overseas with no one to remind me about it and it felt great.

Im over christmas as well (not the religious meaning) with all the present giving for people you hardly see anymore, use to like weddings but the more i go to them the more they have just become 'yeah whatever' :D

I like presents. Other than that, it is a little bit meh, especially with facebook where it seems like everyone needs to say 'Happy Birthday'.

Yeah my Birthday is within the next fortnight..
Like one previous poster I dont like attention being forced upon me.

My girlfriends birthday is great and she loves her birthday so I make sure I treat that as a big deal and enjoy that day. But my own is insignificant IMO.

However I love Christmas. Not cause of the presents, not cause of the religious things, but cause I love my family, both immediate and extended and time with them is great. I feel sorry for people who hate family gatherings, cause I know how good mine are and think everyone should be able to have that experience.

Outside of being a kid, 18 is the only birthday you look forward to.

Girls look forward to all birthdays because it involves the receipt of material goods. Something they can't live without.

Jeepers this site is full of misogynism.

Not ALL girls are materialistic and not ALL men aren't.

Not ALL girls love their birthdays.

Yep today is my birthday and I've never been a big fan, kept it under wraps at work as I didn't want the whole cake and 20 people singing your name deal.

Christmas I'm fine with but Birthdays, I haven't done anything to warrant a celebration so therefor I don't deserve it.

Was funny reading this as it was only last week I was telling mates the same thing.

Well basically, there was this boy there, and they were "sort of" going out (I really can't remember the full story, it was a few years ago now). Anyway her dad was basically not pleased about this and I think he suspected there was something going on. By the end of the night I think he found out and apparently the incident went like this:
"Are you going out with my daughter?"
"Yes". The father is huge, the boy rather slim so the dad pushed him and out the window he went.

They'd hardly been seeing each other, basically nothing had happened, the boy was only 2 years older than her so it wasn't any huge/strange age gap, but this girl's old man is absolutely crazy. Last I heard of him he was in custody and at a court appearence. The boy is a flog too, he spent a shitload of money on her present which he couldn't afford and they broke up not long after, but he didn't deserve to go out the window. He came back to a mate's place after, got really pissed, fell asleep, and someone wrote the words "window breaker" on his head.
Also this girl is one of the biggest ****s you would ever meet, she was basically a free prostitute, she's absolutely feral (I mean unclean) as well. E.g. my group of mates did a combined present of these longish t-shirts. At school she said to us that she wore the dresses we got her on the weekend................ We also think she may've been bi, seemed to like kissing girls as well......

@Copernicus about the sweet 16 thing: She claimed the sweet 16 was a big thing for them (they're argentinain) but even if she wasn't she probably would've done it anyway.

**** that's the longest thing I've written on here it better be worth reading :p

Sure the dad wasn't Maradona? :p

30th December.

How's that for a shit birthdate.

I don't hate or love my birthday.

Don't really need presents but like having a dinner with friends and family.

This is how I feel about it.

This is generally the truth, cannot be denied.

However, you can add 'attention' to 'receipt of material goods'.

lol all whilst her psycho daddy has no idea.
