Have your say on the Tiger’s clash strip!

Please excuse me for being sacreligious, but even though I have voted for number two, I am not that happy with either of them.

For the one game a year that it effects us, we should have a completely different jumper.

As an example, take our Silvertop Taxi sponsorship for the pre-season jumper. Lets go an all silver (or some other colour) jumper and earn a couple of hundred thou for the club coffers. Let's be commercial.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm happy with both. Design two was the one I was pining for, but the more I see design one, the more I like it as well, hard to choose I guess, but went with 2, simply because I fear that design 1 would be knocked back for being too "black".

Meanwhile, not happy with us signing onto Reebok, not happy at all.

just a quick point. Did anybody else notice that there is no HUMMEL on the jumper anymore??????

Reebok will be our new clothes sponsor in 07

amen to that!

i agree number 2 but that is a lot of yellow:eek:

my mrs agrees too so we must be onto something TT - she said design 1 is 'too busy'
Your mrs is right lewiy. The great thing about our jumper is that it is kept simple. Design 1 has yellow strips, sashes and cuffs running all over the place. I don't like it at all. I think its actually less like our existing jumper than design 2 because the whole concept is different. The best jumpers are the traditional sashes, stripes or hoops. Leave the franchises to their abominations with colours and designs running all over the place.

I voted design 2, but my concern is that while it look ok on the internet, I'm not sure how it will look in real life.

And surely now that Essendon look like finishing on the bottom its time to bring in a relegation system. That would solve our problem and make it unnecessary for a clash jumper.

although i like both designs differently , i do agree with design 1 being 'too busy' .. as it does have random strips or whatever but tends to be more like the design we have now. i personally think that design 2 is a bit too yellow, i like the reverse idea though, it works well.:thumbsu:

I dont realy like either of them but voted for opt 2 since it looks better than the other one which just looks like they have grabed ayellow jumper and printed a mini version of our proper jumper.

I voted for No 2 as well. No 1 will win coz it tries to copy our original, for mine Jumper 2 would be great if we could get the AFL to allow us to wear black shorts and our hooped black and yellow socks. The cleaner jumper is also better for sponsors.

Ditto -the yellow jumper but with black shorts-surely the Afl will allow this?

Let's ditch those white shorts(bad karma) forever!

Why?

Its a hell of a lot better than Hummel, Concept Sports & Lotto
Word is we were getting a pretty bad deal on the Nike stuff too

I must admit that Reebok never really was one of my favourite brands, but they are still one of the four major players with Nike, Adidas & Puma. Having them on board is a great thing for the club.

Reebok don't know how to make good boots. Plus, I'd rather us be sponsored by a good quality company like Adidas and Puma, whos products are the best (what we are trying to be as well). Have a look at the other clubs sponsored by Reebok, freo and the kangas, not really fine footballing institutions, whereas adidas sponsor the pies and crows (good) asnd Puma sponsor the eagles and swans among other teams (also good). IMO we should have been sponsored by one of those.

I realise that Reebok is better than hummel (Not Lotto though, they make some nice boots), but I feel we could have done better.

Both jumpers have something for everyone IMO. Both are good in their own way, and I'm glad we didn't do a Essendon and just make jumpers that A) looked like their training wear or B) looked like Rioli had worn the jumper too long.

Do people believe that design 1 will get past the AFL, or will it be too "Black"?

Boot sponsorship is completely seperate and up to players to decide what boots they want to wear. Adidas actually owns Reebok, so they are essentially the same company.

GO NORTHIES i hope they chose our jumper it looks good with black shorts only though and we wear socks that are all yellow with one black hoop up th top. the black and yellow hooped socks with the black shorts and north jumper would look awesome!

Essendon is not the only clash - the last 2 times we've played West Coast in Perth, they have been forced to wear their lighter blue number to avoid a clash with us!

Also, did anyone notice that Adelaide were forced to wear their alternate alternate jumper (the red one) earlier on this year to avoid a clash.

I also agree that both designs are quite poor. Maybe a variation on the 'Wine Glass' heritage jumper would have been a better way to go.

I also think the concept of home/away shorts (introduced themselves to avoid clashes) have gone the way of the place kick and centre diamond.

What you should have is:
  1. Your uniform
  2. Your alternate uniform when you are away and there is a clash with the home team

This means that we could either design a jumper that worked with white or yellow shorts, or have a predominatly yellow jumper with black shorts.

Far better than wearing a yellow jumper and white shorts and looking like a lemon meringue.

I also hope that everyone notices that the format of the questions can only lead to a biased results.

It's like asking, who do you prefer banging:
  • Your mother?
  • Your sister?

Obviously, there is no option for 'neither'.

Maybe, but you know that Reebok will be pushing for the players, espexially the young players, to wear Reebok.

Oh, didn't know that. Maybe it isn't so bad if the players are offered Adidas boots or they are promoted as footwear. Definetly though,
Reebok > Hummel.
