Our club aren't interested in any extension at the moment unfortunately.

Aside from the above 30+ goal season stat above which demonstrates he has been more consistent than any other AFL era small forward, I thought it might be interesting to now look at 40+ goal seasons. On that front, the best smalls in the AFL era are:

1. L. Breust 8
1. S. Milne 8
3. E. Betts 7
3. B. Johnson 7
5. S. Johnson 6
6. Ph. Matera 5

Don't think anyone else has managed it 5 times.

Matthews (who was a rover, but every goal he kicked was in the forward line) had:
15 30+ goal seasons.
13 40+ goal seasons.
10 50+ goal seasons.

Although that was pre afl era.

We all know what was meant.

Bartlett was the same. They played rover 60 - 70% of the game, then rested forward in the pocket and kicked stacks of goals.

Doesn’t happen anymore in modern football.

I think you are missing the point HedgeFund is making. Lewis played forward a few times and kicked goals, same with Danger and many more but they didn't 'rest' there after playing as a rover for 70% of the game, they came off the ground for a rest. Back when there was the occasional interchange rotation, guys like Bartlett and Matthews never came off, they 'rested' in the pocket and kicked goals and as they got older, became more permanent forwards and kicked more.
