It wouldn't sell out, because the Medallion club and corporates etc wont go, so you will have 35,000 people there yet have about another 30,000 who cant get a ticket

Empty but sold seats would still be a sellout.

The only club this year capable of selling out Etihad on their own is Richmond (and even they probably still wouldn't do it) Collingwood wouldn't sellout the public reserve. You overestimate the people that are prepared to go on free tickets at the MCG but wouldn't pay $80 if they had to.

Yeah but that doesn't make it official. AFL media is run semi-independently of the AFL, their journos can speculate as much as Caro or Robbo does.

Give Ratboy Barrett his due, when it comes to speculation he leaves both of them for dead

Richmond would've got 70k plus regardless of who they played in the first final.

Agreed.

I think I said it way back when that the Tigers first final was always going to be the hottest ticket in town.

Evidently the Collingwood-Port Adelaide, Geelong-Fremantle and Hawthorn-Sydney finals could have all been catered for by Ethiad Stadium. The fact that the Collingwood final wasn't scheduled at Ethaid reinforces the view that the AFL administration are intimated by the Collingwood FC President and Management.
