There's one guy out there somewhere convinced that all our woes began when we got rid of Trent Stubbs...

DimiPumpa, or something...may have been his dad. No-one else could possibly have cared as much.

Don't worry if you're wondering "Trent who?"...such was his towering legacy...

From memory I think he was a NSW scholarship player and came to us with some wraps? (Same channel as Tex Walker recruited by the Crows).

We got rid of him very quickly, then I think Collingwood rookied him, much to the disgust of said DimiPumpa, for whom delisting him was a worse mistake than Richmond taking Tambling instead of Buddy. Many "mark my words!" were posted.

Suffice to say, neither Trent nor Dimi troubled the scorers after that...

Trent Stubbs is a name I've not heard in a long time.

The hype around him was huge. Remember people saying we've plucked the best NSW junior in a decade.

Was an absolute loose cannon and never justified the hype.

He's no Tom Schneider though. In an alternative universe he's a 4x All Australian Centreman and I'm going out with Margot Robbie.

My favourite non hawk player. That whole year leading up to the draft I was praying we’d be able to pick him up.

That's exciting. I wonder if we will see Sicily start on the wing and look to drift back as the spare like Stewart has been.

Moore runs so hard he plays almost as a pseudo wing anyway. Or I wonder if Finn can play that role from HF to still let Moore do most of his damage in the forward half?

Funny I saw Tom Schneider play a bit of local footy at Pearcedale in the Mornington Peninsula League this year a very handy type although he is getting on in age. Did he win a liston medal?

Yes, he would have been handy when Day was out.

I’m doubtful that we wouldn’t have been in finals this year if Tom Mitchell and O’Meara were still with us. They were taking us backwards rather than forwards.

Two very experienced on-field coaches in an area we can afford their salary, and if they aren’t playing they are providing excellent depth and guidance. Tucker was a mid season draft pick that was not (in my opinion) showing much at all at VFL level. Unfortunately it’s a tough gig and being in the very best echelon to warrant a list spot is bloody hard. It’s a massive accomplishment to just make a list.

If it were my choice I would have taken the experience and guidance in this situation too.

Also too, Gunston has been on record that he is happy to play at boxhill if required. In order to help coach, can see Gunston being a very good forward coach after his playing career.

Can confirm the homesickness which I heard direct from a relative but this person also thinks he stays

There is one Melbourne club heavily in his ear and if he were to come back top VIC, it wont be to us

Would not surprise me at all if he were a regular he with a 15 year old account. He's somewhat active on the "Let's Talk Hawthorn" facebook group. There's a few family members and former players in that group. I've seen Dermott and Eade post in there sometimes. And Wingard's dad posted something last week.

Ginni’s family have been mad Hawks and members forever, his old man played a lot of footy too so the game is in the blood. I’d be pretty shocked if he wasn’t on the Hawks board here, don’t know if he would be an active poster though, probably prefers the radio.
