List Mgmt. Hawk's List Management for 2025

Usually do one of these before the trade period but was caught-up with other stuff this year so here is my post-trade period update! This is what I have at the moment. As you can see, firstly the list is STACKED in terms of talent (which we already knew) but is also pretty close to being completely full as it is. If what I have is correct, then we have 36 primary list, 4 Cat A and 1 Cat B locked in for next year which leaves us with limited options in terms of drafting next month and SSP/MSD in 2025.

If I had to guess, I'd say we are likely to delist-then-rookie one or both of Gunston and/or Breust for flexibility. Regardless, we can only intake a max of 2 players to primary/Cat A list at the moment plus the option of another Cat B player if we want (which I suspect we will re-sign Bennetts with).

As usual, if you spot any mistakes then please let me know :)

You can scratch Bennetts from your spreadsheet. Just noticed the announcement that they won’t be offering him another contract

I have, and I'm wondering what our (and Adelaide's) exception is? I can't see anywhere where these exceptions are outlined by the AFL and I can't see how we would qualify to only have the two draft picks.
Anyone?

Why is this even an argument? P&P has referred to a document that states we need to have 3 live picks, maybe there is some further update, but it is not apparent, either way it stands to reason that the club has (and is working on) information that supersedes that minimum, or are planning to delist someone else. It's a wait-and-see thing, isn't it?

Can't find any details about him - height, weight etc. Only that in the NRL h's a gifted player "On-field he has a lot of X-factor and can do things that not a lot of other players can. He has a great sense for the game."

He’s 182cm, 75kg, played full back in NRL.

And yes was definitely a Gold Coast academy player prior to committing to league as a junior.

Heh. I hate to say it, but that's the silliest comment in this thread so far. :D

Disappointed for JB, I really thought he'd be given another crack, but understandable given how tight spots are.

A good reminder for folks that these boards are often perused by family members of players. Particularly worth remembering when diagnosing a player with ADHD based off an action on the footy field, or calling one of our own "garbage" or a "spud".
Or even an oppo player for that matter. Kindness costs nothing.

(If someone's offering commentary on an action from a player, that's fair game IMHO).

And now we can determine ALL players weights simply by saying "so and so looks 5kg heavier than this guy".

AFL really failed to plug all the leaks here
I find it hilarious on rookie me central that they publish the draftees profiles with height but no weight, yet leave the word “Weight:” there with a blank space… IMG_4958.png

He's far too small for Prison Football, but seems real quick with v. good agility.

One has a contract and the other doesn't.

I do agree with you though. Surprised at the delisting. Thought he has some tricks.
This is it. Bennetts had promise but we have a wealth of A class small forwards now. The club has obviously realised that we need that spot for a different positional player going forward.

All the best Josh, hope you get picked up by another club.

Granted a 19 year old pro athlete is still developing and growing - but 75kg is pretty light for a modern fullback in the NRL. I wouldn't be shocked if that figure is a bit out of date.

As I have no clue, I wonder what we see here and where he will play. Thoughts?

Can't find what position he played when he played junior footy - given Bennetts delisting I wonder if he is viewed as a smaller forward option. His brief rugby league highlights you can find online he looks good under the high ball (being a highly rated fullback that should be a given) and looks like he's quick and a good mover. Given that he obviously wouldn't mind some contact playing rugby league maybe he could be an option on the wing also.

Seems like a really good kid in the brief interviews he has done.
