Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

I call on the AFL to review the Rule as a matter of urgency so that other players in the future are not put at risk simply for playing the game fairly.

If ever we had an incentive to win Saturday’s game against Essendon, the AFL has given it to us.

But we enter the game with our backs depleted and our forwards depleted, but the spirit of Hawthorn absolutely rekindled. We all want to be selected to play. I am sure those that are will rise up to the occasion, and my profound hope is that Buddy Franklin can return to be part of our team to contest the Preliminary Final.

Does that still apply?

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

Look, all who post here know that Lloyd is a c***.

That was his last game.

What a way to go out, you gape-mouthed, droning drip of a thing!!!

Now we have decades listening to that garbage bloke, as he mangles anything that involves his brain, mouth, and a microphone.

We are poorer for his presence on this planet.

Brad Sewell is poorer, that's for sure.

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

Personally, I think Lloyd will get 2 weeks minimum with an early guilty plea.. Whilst I'm not sure how the points system differs, Lloyd will be guilty as everything Buddy was guilty with, though i think Buddy got done for medium contact, where as Lloyd i guess you could argue it was medium to heavy contact with the head. Don't quote me on it though, and i belive both Buddy and Lloyd should not get suspended. You put your body on the line, prepare for the consequences i believe.

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

After all the carry on during the week at Buddy's suspension you can't help but laugh at the so called experts on the Lloyd incident.

Quartermaine and Walls both think it is worth 4 weeks plus. Yet think Buddy should have got off. Depending on Llloyds record he should get what Buddy was offered at worst.

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

Hawks fans aren't exactly taking the loss well. :)

Like Sewell, cop it on the chin. :thumbsu:

dear jeffry I couldn't be arsed spelling correctly but I am well taking it up the arse and on the chin and wherever I am not allowed to go. Never fear we will be back again and good luck old chap.

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

Hawthron are carrying on like pathetic little sooks...spoilt brats,Collingwood esque!!

Suck it up losers, you've got an extra month to get over it you bunch of 'one rule for them, one rule for us' flogs

Boo Hoo:thumbsdown:

The Hawthorn bias on CH10 is an absolute joke. Someone should start a petition on that to get rid of them all.

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

Like Buddy, he shouldn't be suspended but it was a more damning looking incident then Buddy's and I dunno if he did it on purpose....but we gotta cop it sweet and so will Lloyd. Good luck in September Dons.:thumbsu:

An example a sane and sensible hawthorn fan?

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

Jeez, you lot are w***ers.

There's a clear difference between the cases, Sewell was bending down, clearly on the way down to contest the ball.

Lloyd, had he any heart at all, would've done the same thing.

JD, you getting your shots in before the Saints go out in straight sets??

Not to mention Throbbie's pathological hatred of Essendon.

Made the game so much more enjoyable too. :)

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

What alot of bullshit from the peanuts out there. Massive difference between bumping someone when you are eyeballing them and when they have their head over the footy.

Lloyd targeted a man with his head over the footy. Hawks fans wouldn't be pissed off if it was a legitimate bump. Aggression on the football field has always been an integral part of the Hawthorn football culture (probably more than any other) so I have no complaints there.

However we are in a different era and the head is untouchable. If this was in the 80's or 70's it would have been fair enough as we could have settled the score in the old fashioned way. We would have quickly reduced the Bomber bench to even the score.

Re: Hawthorn fans - hypocrites

I would like to see Lloyd get off - I am a lover of physical footy and though I hated seeing Sewell go down like that, it was Lloyd's physical play that turned the game, or at least provided the catalyst (Get out your dictionary Collingwood fans)

However, I am a realist, and he'll be offered two weeks and would be foolish not to take it.

I wish that both Lloyd and Franklin beat their respective charges - one actual, and one pending - but that is not the AFL of today, and as such, I don't hold out much hope for Lloyd walking on this one.

To be fair, we're not nearly as well-practised as you and your fellow Stains. Your mob has made an artform out of failure...I can't wait to see what novel way you invent to f*** it up this year.

Like Sewell, cop it on the chin. :thumbsu:

Typically classy.

Anyway, I still haven't seen the incident, was at the bar and just returned for the aftermath. But I'd be surprised if it was another cowardly snipe from high-pants...Sewell is a tough, strong-bodied kind of player, doesn't seem to fit with high-pants M.O.

Whatever the case, hopefully that's the last we see of that high-panted felcher. Can't see the Bummers wasting valuable resources and mounting much of a defence if he does get cited. The Sewell incident has been pretty much his only contribution for the season...getting 3-4 will save any awkwardness for them at the selection table.:thumbsu:

Possibly. :)

Just a bit of fun fuey. Some around here deserve a bit of payback.

FWIW I didn't see anything wrong with Buddy's hit . . . or Lloyd's.

Should be more of it.

I accept there are some "low-level" supporters that may get on your goat, so I'll let it go this time:p

fwIW NFL Board JD>AFL Board JD, IMO!!

Still a clear difference in the incidents though...
