Both Sam and Lyndall Mitchell had feared for daughter Scarlett's survival at a young age. Then-football boss Mark Evans is understood to have stepped in and returned Mitchell's phone to him so he could remain in contact with his wife.

The Age have also reported further allegations against Clarkson that surround his controlling behaviour have surfaced, with the four-time premiership coach alleged to have:
1/Expressed surprise before the twins' birth that Mitchell was having children so close together (the Mitchell's son Smith was 11 months old when the twins were born) and wondered at the effect this might have upon his playing career.
2/Publicly announced Mitchell was missing a game against Richmond due to personal reasons relating to the twins' health without the player's knowledge or consent.

The AFL has a history of sweeping unpleasantness under the carpet - the concussion study is a prime, prime example.

I agree with that but worksafe has a similar history of botching investigations or sweeping them under the rug. Im not sure why anyone would have confidence in them to investigate this properly either

It's entirely dependent on who exactly contributed to what's been alleged. If any of those 5 did, they'd probably also be nervous, but until now they've not been named anywhere in the Hawthorn report or subsequent news articles - likely for a reason.

How widespread was it. At what level were these discissions happening. How widespread with other players and coaches was it.

And the bigger one, how did all the other clubs manage their player / coach interactions and decision making.

The allegations made are "allegations of wrongdoing". He denies the "allegations of wrongdoing."

You stated that "Clarkson and Fagan haven't denied that these things happened". "These things [that allegedly] happened" are the allegations made. They are alleged to have happened at a certain place at a certain time in a certain way. Which are "allegations of wrongdoing". Which have been denied by Fagan in his statement.
