must quell bartel, taylor & pods' influence... i'm in 2 minds about big bud if he comes in, the unpredictability is working in our favour. Gunstall, Bruest, Lewis, & Ruff are all causing large headaches for the opposition. I would hate to see 70-80% of entries go to Bud as the afore mentioned players can kick a winning score on their own.

Schoey has improved & our mid brigade now has some good spread in youngy, smith (albeit out of form), whitex, cyril, suckers.

Lets smash these blue & white hooped pricks ..... their time is up.

Yep looks like Buddy has been ruled out again, guess they have money on someone else winning the Coleman

Will be a good test for the boys, figure more than one change is unlikely, possibly just Hale for Bailey

No Buddy will hurt against the Cats. It will mean that either Gunston or the ring in (Lewis, Hodge type player) will have a much higher quality defender to deal with than they have in the last couple of weeks. Saying that we will seem more unpredictable with Bud out and the Cats will have to change their defensive focus a bit. Bud will be annoyed I think.

We may go in unchanged or maybe just Hale for Max, though I think we might keep Max in.

They might put Scarlett on him, using Lonergan on Roughy and Taylor up around CHB.

I would think that would be the go. The worry I have is the Cats quality defenders can play 1 on 1 and peel off when required. Buddy normally stops his opponent peeling off and I am not too sure Gunners or Hodge might not inspire that effect. Though that might work for us too! It will be interesting to see who we line up with and what the Cats go with in defence.

So after 26 days Buddy's hamstring still not right to go.

Herald sun saying he might not make the trip to Tassie for the Port game. It's on a Sunday so that would be 35 days and the following game is another 7 days after that, 42 days.

Either this is a high grade hammy tear or, as usual, we are being kept in the dark about injuries.

I was sure he would play and this news has just really pissed me off.

Personally I think they're just playing it safe and we unleash him next week to get primed for the finals.

Of course if we lose tomorrow suddenly reality looks much bleaker.

Why would they send him to Tassie first game back? I think big guys with suspect hammies and planes don't mix so I would give him until the week after.
I would have liked to see Buddy tomorrow night but the club needs to be careful with these "mild" strains or else they become month long injuries.
Oh, wait, it has already....

Yeah, really disappointed myself. I hope this is just a minor setback. Cats will be buoyed by this news and just about frees up a couple of their defenders.

Playing it safe and unleashing him for the crunch game against Port?

Club is on a hiding to nothing if we lose, with this one. If we play him and we lose then he has obviously interupted our structures. If we don't play him and we lose then why is he not in the team. We should still match up well against the pussies. Same as the last 2 weeks for the Hawks.

Must be one hell of a hammy strain, dont see why we need to be kept in the dark, originally 2-3 now goes out to 4 and probably 5, couldnt possibly still be tight after 28 days unless it was a grade 3 tear, so we must resting the great man for this game?

If the hammy is right though, and fully healed, then theoretically it is under no more stress than anyone elses hamstring. Remembering that Launceston is less than an hour flight. That being said, Buddy could have a prosthetic leg for all we know, such is the tripe we are often fed by the Hawthorn medical team.

I found it strange Hawthorn have announced it so early,I'd have thought you would name him in the team, if nothing else it would give our defenders a sleepless night and had our selectors in two minds as who to play.
Looking forward to this one as usual.

No Buddy this week:(
So much for Clarkson saying 3 weeks ago that buddys hamstring injury was only minor when trying to justify playing him against GWS, full of Bullsh#t as usual. When will we ever get to take on the handbaggers with our best side?

That's the problem isn't it. If we lose tomorrow getting primed to travel interstate to play our first final.

I just don't get it, fine to risk him for GWS but not for the Cats. Monumental F--- up by the medical staff and the mishandling of Hodge our 2 key players has been a real indictement on the club and don't give me the namby pamby stuff of hindsight and they only have so many tools at their disposal to mak the call on injuries. One day he is fine to risk in a meaningless game and now in probably the most importnant game for the year he isn't. So we take the risk get burnt and now the club are all, well if he's not absolutely 100% - where was that thinking for the GWS game??

No doubt if we play Sydney in Sydney they will still schedule it at the SCG as they have more chance of beating us there than ANZ stadium, despite the reduced capacity due to renovations.

Hale will have to come back , Bailey keept in the side so we can use roughy and hale more up forward now that the great one is still out. Savage goes out this week is my guess.

God we can be a bunch of whingers, it has been done to death. Buddy declared himself fit to play against G.W.S, he would have done the same today reading between the lines. Against G.W.S they took his word and it backfired. Once bitten, twice shy. They err on the side of caution this week and we have kittens?

They don't have much data to go on with buddy's soft tissue injuries being that he has been so resilient over his career, fair to say next time they will handle it better.

Considering he was swimming this time last week it was always going to unlikely that he would get up for the cats for a friday night game.
