Those having cracks at Monfries obviously didn't watch the game. Absolutely destroyed Birchall tonight and was our only winner on the ground. Birchall was that frustrated he resorted to cheap sniper tactics with an elbow to the back of Monfries head.

Watson tried his guts out and Gumby kicked 4.3 and looked awesome!

That is where the good ends however....

lol at the Monfries love. He was shizen.

I loved the bit when he got in the way of a few players in the first. I loved it when Birchall and Burgoyne ran from half back with Gus 20 metres behind.

I loved it when he went into the middle in the last, fumbled a soda and then hanballed into the opposite space to where we were.

Another loss and the same tossers bagging their whipping boy Gus. ****ing pathetic!!!

Monfries was far from our worst tonight, the only issue with him at the moment is the fact that he is down on confidence which shows in his goal-kicking. When he is up, he rarely misses but he is being heavily pressured now and attacked pretty hard at every contest. Made some very good leads but had ordinary deliveries that left him up like a sitting duck.

Hardingham cost us 4-5 goals...that play on in the middle when Rioli is on your heels was dumb...so many dumb decisions by our players tonight, our skills have really dropped off!

Farken umpires too...some very ordinary decisions!

Didn't know Hodge was a key forward with the contested marks he was taking!

Just looking at our stats, (according to afl.com.au, 5 guys did not lay a tackle and 5 more layed 1. How many missed tackles were there?

Really need players with composure and decision making, skills obviously helps as well.. Wouldnit mind getting an inside midfielder in next week (and not one we have seen before - enter Brendan Lee).

missing a second tall forward really hurts us, stoked Gumby finished with 4, would have loved to see him finish with 5, but thats footy.

The smalls were awful, agree with the sentiments that we should not have played Dell after Crameri was dropped, Carlisle (who would have been the logical replacement forward had Pears come in) should have played forward.

Cannot falter our leader, what a player. I do agree with Leigh Matthews, he did not have as much an effect on the game as earlier in the year, but still our best by a mile.

And just want to make a shout out to the younger, inexperienced players. Browne looked like he belonged, really loved his attack on the footy, that play where he took the game on and ran through CHB was awesome. Kavanagh, as mentioned earlier, just oozes class, and has class stamped across him. Bauguley was a lot better than last week, seemed more composed tonight than last week, couple of times he blazed away, but can you blame him, and last but not least, Jake Carlisle, really wanted him to play forward early in his career, but each time I see him play, I just love his contested marking down back, would love to see him back his kicking more, but we can work with that. Oh, and Dyson Heppel should be moved to half back. Yes he is creative, yes he uses it well, but I feel his peripheral vision and awareness in the middle has clearly stood out in the last two weeks, maybe on a wing, but not in the guts.

Really struggling to find an apt comparison for Angus Monfries at the moment, who is the Collingwood version? (Goldsack?) who is the Hawks version? (Breust?), add to that the stagnant development of jake Melksham and the bus full of passengers is filling up fast.

we desperately need better users of the ball, and we need more physicality in our game, more c*** in us, far to often we tried to nicely place a Hawk down rather than dump them in the ground (ala NLM).

Hope we can start to gain some cattle back on the park soon, otherwise, i can really see us missing the finals, which would be diabolical for this club to be 9 - 1 and then proceed to miss the finals..

We're no better than we were in 2009. I hope we don't make the 8. We'll only be on the of another belting. Hand The Weapon his marching papers, Crameri and Hurley need to put on ice for 2012 and get some games into the youngsters and make the seniors earn their way back in. Belly to ruck solo until Paddy returns and begin parading our mid tier players in front of GCS and GWS for some draft picks.

We'll seriously end up like the Tigers and begin some sort of 5 year project each pre-season otherwise.

1 win over a top 8 side heading into round 19 is simply not good enough.

In: Hooker, Pears, Crameri, Hurley, Hibberd, Lonergan, Reimers, Dyson
Out: Delolio, Melksham, Baguley, Hepell, hille, davey, monfries,

Thankfully I'm not enraged, predicted we'd lose by 12 plus goals with TAB Sportsbet. Thank you for my lovely pineapples, Essendon  My wallet is VERY happy

yeah that's a ****ing huge consolation

Yeah, Dell in instead of Pears was a stupid idea. No idea how the coaches thought that'd help.
And Hooker being out because of STRUCTURE?
Clearly didn't freaking work did it?

Pretty pissed off right now.

Yes, I was surprised with this. I don't rate Pears but Slippery Corey is out of his depth and adds nothing but European ethnicity into the line up.

I think we must be the lucky team to have a slowish half forward that is defensive... sort of. If you spin it right then you can claim he's the best defensive forward in the league.

He held Birchall to 18 and an easy game...... although to Gus credit I liked the bit where he let Birchall run into our forward 50 and get cleaned up by Dempsey.

I also loved the bit where he dropped the overhead mark in our defensive 50..but he was not alone in that department, Demspey did one and Cory Del and Hille dropped sitters.
