Terrific thread Headless

What it shows is that there has not been an undeserved winner. All bring their unique qualities and points of difference. What they have in common is all are gun posters, put in sustained, creative effort into their own media and engage a diverse population of posters.

this is crap low effort media but it'll draw likes because of how many posters you've tagged. Also the poll seems wrong.
Just be careful, mate.

Wrong thread mate, I think you were looking for this one.

Tagging lots of posters in media is an excellent Beez strategy , especially if you can compliment a few posters

CHAPTER 7: TRENDS & OBSERVATIONS
SWEET'S COMEBACKS (71).png

CHAPTER 7: TRENDS & OBSERVATIONS

So now we’ve individually looked at each season from Season 28-32 collectively, and we’ve had such a jolly time doing so! 🥳 But that means we can now turn our attention to a few broader trends and observations. There are several other things I’d like to look at, and may do so, but I’ll leave the trends/observations here for now.

I’ll start with something that struck me as I was compiling data throughout this process.

"THE BIG FOUR"
A few times in this thread I have referred to a phenomenon I’m referring to as “the big four”. Basically, it just seems that there tends to be a grouping of four stand-out posters, then a jump to the next six in the top ten. If we take a quick look at the five seasons in question:
The main exception to the rule here seems to be Season 29, where TIF and mang completely dominated the season, and also dominated votes accordingly. Here is a messy little compilation of the top ten vote winners from the five seasons I considered:

SWEET'S COMEBACKS (72).png

Or, if we combine the results from the five seasons:

SWEET'S COMEBACKS (73).png

It doesn’t look like a massive difference now that I’m looking at the graph above, but the gap between fourth and fifth is much larger than any other gap.

For those who prefer tabulated data:

PLACINGTOTAL VOTESAVERAGE
16,9091,382
26,6281,326
35,8791,176
45,4981,100
54,374875
64,139828
73,990798
83,742749
93,512702
103,281656

Now, why this tends to happen, I’m not exactly sure. Perhaps the top ~four pollers each season simply appear in more voting lists, whereas those from five downward are more up for debate (and votes are, subsequently, more widely spread). Perhaps it’s just the way it’s gone in the particular seasons I’ve looked at. Perhaps there’s some huge conspiracy. It’s hard to say!

It’s probably a safe bet, however, to predict that there’ll be a group of 3-4 players this season that put distance on the rest when it comes to beez voting.

PRIOR FORM
Is it true that you need to be a “big name” to win the beez Trophy? Well, perhaps. manangatang, TheInjuryFactory, Tigerturbulance, and Barrybran all finished in the top six prior to the season they won. Elton Johns Wig, who finished 24th season prior, was the exception – but EJW had placed in the top ten a few seasons prior, and was (and is) a well-known figure around the league.

Let’s take a quick look at votes for each of the winners in their winning season, plus the four seasons prior.

As we can see, manangatang, TheInjuryFactory, and Tigerturbulance followed a relatively similar trajectory. Barrybran was more consistent before ultimately winning, and Elton Johns Wig was somewhat the exception to the rule. I’ll be very interested to see what happens in the beez count this season – can Kennedy Parker salute in a return season?

Here’s how it looks when also considering the two prior winners in The Jesus (Season 27) and JoshWoodenSpoon (Season 26):

DO BEEZ WINNERS "DROP OFF"?
Is beez burn-out a thing? How hard is it to back up a winning season performance? Here’s a quick analysis of past winners and their follow-up seasons.

Only JoshWoodenSpoon has won beez Trophies in successive seasons (JWS also finished second in season #3), whilst The Filth Wizard, JoshWoodenSpoon, manangatang, and TheInjuryFactory have all backed up a winning season with a second place season.

The biggest drops were recorded by The Jesus in Seasons 27-28, and Tigerturbulance in Seasons 30-31. That is, of course, until Elton Johns Wig finishes 84th this season. 🤗

Without stealing your thunder, I'd imagine I would be the least consistent (due to circumstances out of my control) of all winners you'll look at.

So I'll ask a question and give you a chance to do more research. Whats the biggest jump to a win from the previous season? All time.

Cheers and thanks.
I didn't explicitly look at this in the trends/observations post above, but haven't forgotten it.

In terms of votes the previous season, you took the largest jump of at least the last seven winners.
