Been tired for about a year.

Did a sleep test before Xmas. Got the results last week. Was quite shocking tbh, namely extreme severe sleep apnoea. Massive drops in oxygen as I sleep. Waking up 80 times per hour (not that I knew).

Get a cpap, 1st night was horrendous, no sleep, no comfort, no hope. Second and third night still don’t sleep but worked out how to be as comfortable as possible.

But still felt I wouldn’t be able to sleep.

4th night, bang 4 hours sleep. Wake up feeling surprisingly good.

5th night, almost instant sleep, 6 straight hours, machine says 0 apneas, not tired and the world looks different.

Like 720p before and 4K now.

Amazing

This was me 5/6 years ago - cpap can revitalise your life & the good far out-weighs the bad.

Tips
- You are now at the mercy of the health insurance/health products providers scam/rort so do your own
research on prices & products for replacement accessories eg masks headgear

- I haven`t met many clinicians that know or understand too much so don`t listen to their BS about
not allowed to tell you how to change the settings on your machine - online there are 2 sites that I visit
one is Cpap....... something (just look for Uncle Nicko -Aussie site) & Lanky Lefty 27
They will give you reviews on new gear & Nick gives really good advice on machine settings

-Check for specials online when you need to buy which you will quite often

-Seems many people get right into the full sleep analysis with apps etc - personally I just roll over every morning
& check apneas, pressure (auto machine) & leakage. Leakage is very important - can`t get full benefit if leaking too much

(I used to roll the other way of a morning to check pressure, availability, willingness etc)

Hope I haven`t intruded too far - just my thoughts

Thanks for the tips.

I had my one week review and they gave me a different mask as they said I was getting too much leakage.

New mask felt even better and last night i slept well and the machine said I had 0 apneas!!!!!!!

Anyone done a gut reset at all? I’ve just coughed up a bit of $ for a protocol and a stack of different supplements.

I have a heap of issue with my gut, mostly linked to having my gall bladder removed at 21.

A family member of mine got onto this naturopath/dietician because he was having issues with ulcerative colitis. His life has seemingly changed so much since he done the gut reset… better energy, better metabolism, finding easier to lose weight, clearer head, less inflammation…

Im super keen to get into and see if it has similar results for me!

Big middle finger to those who say you can't train speed.

Back at footy tonight and after six months of absolutely busting my arse I've gone from being the slowest in our midfield group (aerobically best or second best) to second fastest.

I'm middle of the pack now aerobically so it has come at a slight cost.

Well done, congrats, hard work pays off!
