Gordon also gone from Elmore.
Something wasn’t right when they named their chairman of selector a joint coach a few weeks back.
Clearly the ‘stepping aside due to work commitments’ doesn’t cut it, when the next week he’s suiting up for another club.

another one bites the dust at Elmore. How do they recruit so well to perform so poorly? Surely it cant all be down to the coach? I start to question the committee and their direction in trying to build the club up and being able to attract the right people for the roles, including committee and Coaches.
Players on big payments don't want out unless something is wrong and it cant just be 100% the coach IMO. As per normal the truth always comes out....eventually.

I did say north Bendigo for favourites a couple of weeks ago, Locky away this Saturday will prove a lot... This is the closest the comp has been since I've known. LBU look to be warming up to Fiske and I'd imagine will pick up some momentum with the final recruit making debut, White Hills started strong but are not putting away teams like I thought they would be doing, Mounts on the day beats anyone but seem a unpredictable, Heathcote with a couple disappointing losses and a little injured, LG will be starting to get toey with the improvement they have shown over the last 12 months, We all knew what Huntly were going to dish out, Colbo and Elmore in a bit of trouble. Will be short term for Colbo id imagine, Elmores been pissing in the wind for a good 10 years now

Did they finally clear Gordon to Rochy?

Cohuna is the biggest ground in the state, if they get in, playing on that surface you'll be doing extra running, it'd be one of the better set ups in heathcote, if they join
I wonder if Nagambie has ever considered making the move, seems like they are always top end at the KDFL, not unreasonable for HDFL. Only be unreasonable travel between Cohuna if they join and Nagambie but then again wouldn't be the longest away trip in country footy GRFL and GVFL for example... not too different with the travel when Broadford was in the league. Only be a win win i would think

The HDFNL need to pause and think about the what the clubs and fans want. The L/G trip is too long and geographically and performance wise they should be a part of the LVFNL. We should then allow the 2 local teams MG and Marong to join making it a strong 10 team league with less travel and no compromised draw (bye removed).

Unfortunately increased travel is inevitable

When or if it gets bigger you could have north-south divisions with the top 4 in each division play finals against each other. It could go as gain clubs like Kerang and rochy, Echuca United, moama Nagambie and Stanhope as well as Castlemaine and kyneton to the south as well as marong and maiden gully, I think it will end up being the league surrounding bendigo and wider surrounds with juniors and Loddon valley will have clubs with no juniors

LG doesn't hurt no one, nearly completed their rebuild with a lot of local kids returning pretty much identical situation as LBU after their flags and look how good they turned out untouchable during covid and realistically last year's flag should have been the cap of another three peat. Put them in the LVFL with these kids and they will win 12 on the trot

I agree, Trent.

When the Golden Rivers league can't go on any longer, I see the remaining clubs combining to form a Golden Rivers FC and joining the NCFL, then there will come a time when the NCFL faces the same fate and you might have between 2 and 4 of those clubs entering the HDFL, as well as any remaining LVFL clubs.

Football in the region will eventually end up as the Bendigo Regional FL with the Bendigo league clubs as Division 1 with all the other clubs becoming Division 2 North and Division 2 South.

It will be a sad day for Hay unless they end up in the Picola or Murray FL
