Wouldn't have thought Mounts is a club that would struggle for high spirits mate

Just received a medical report on browns sore ankle! looks like he's out for the season, about six k's out from the cbd, i think they call it the borough, apparently he trained the house down tonight and is very excited about the year ahead on the lush green pastures of cantebury park.

We will see Tilt, we will see. Might be a spot for me at CHF then if what you say is true!

Can I reply to 3 posts here lads . . . .

We had 36 tonight Roota6, and strangely seeking glory was onto something as we had a visit from former Seymour & Kilmore (& B'ford 3rds) player Chooka Barton.

I too have heard the name Brown and Eaglehawk used in the same sentence a lot lately, and that LBU may have joined the hunt for Charlie Smythe.

The Seymour boys are bowling Tilt, bailed out for 175 on a road at Broadford, with the home side needing 100 for victory with 9 wickets up their sleeve.

I think the Brown/Eaglehawk partnership is a done deal. I have heard this one from about 4 or 5 different sources now.... Roota, you're johny on the spot, ask the question mate "so where's Brown been the last few weeks?" see what response you get and if they mention his injury - chirp up with a "he wasn't too injured to train at the Borough..." see what they have to say then.....................

The league has been pretty even over the last couple of years with any team capable of an upset. But it appears 3 of last years top 4 teams (Mounts, Elmore, Colbo) will picked up more players than they will loose and Broady will be up there too. Where as two teams that struggled last year, Huntly and North, appear to be losing more players than they will pick up. Fingers crossed for everybodies sake that we don't develop a massive gap between the top and the bottom like other leagues eg- lvfl, mdfl, kdfl, etc.

got no clue where you guys get the idea that broadford will be up there?? They will be middle of the road and perenial under-achievers. If doona put as much time into coaching as he does here on big footy maybe then i might start coming around!!

Not a bad turn out at elmores first run of the year last night the 25-30 boys that were there did some running and swimming with alot looking in good shape.
New faces included Nick Manley, Justin Schubert, Chris Martens, Jason Carboone, a couple of younger guys and a big fella from Kyabram. Given a few are living in Melbourne and a few more away with work commitments it was good to get those numbers.
Cam Cail is only a few weeks off being back and there is talk of Adam Rout being back around mid year and possibly even Anthony white. Also talking to another on baller and ruckman.

Brent, as i've mentioned b4 i have many different sources that often call into my work and i keep a keen interest in most leagues surrounding.
i get abit of mail about w.hills from one of your players when i call into his protein shop .

Fair enough ablett....although I would be highly sceptical of any mail you get from the above mentioned shop owner, as he hasnt been sighted at the club this year and I doubt will be in the near future.

sometimes his mail is good cos he'd get a few footballers in i'd imagine, i did ask him what he was upto last time in and he said he might have another crack at g.square but spoke highly of w.hills. he's been training at square i think.
do you play at hills?

Will Nick Manly be cleared? Word at hawkland is that they aren't keen on him going there and given the location (ie 15kms past Huntly) and minimal financial gain he would be receiving going there, i think he might struggle if it goes to an appeal's board. And Justin Schubert - has he recovered from that ankle injury - Last i heard was he was taking they year off....?

Remembered their names BH? Thats good for you - did you write them down?

Can people tell on this thread tell me about Jaan Conmeady (spelling?)?

i would have thoughtif he was a major signing, which most people would classify brown as, the recruiting staff at mounts would have had him at the first few training runs, but not being there when he has signed on the dotted line is a bit suspicious. heard saturday that he has had a few meetings with the eaglehawk heirachy. is he the sort of player who is doing this to boost his value on the market

i dont think he set the world on fire in the heathcote league last year but the year b4 when at tyntynder he was an interleague ruckman so he obviously can play.
he be a capable chb/chf in the bfl.

ablett, what do you think dave edwards chance of cracking the senior squad are??? he left last year because of a probable lack of opportunity. is the opportunity there for him this year, with square reported to be on the improve from last year???

HDFL HAWKSFAN, havent heard much on your new recruits to date, do you have any that you can mention.
there was a story floating round that if player wanted a clearance to another club, be it in another league or the same, and it went to appeal. unless the player was in a signed contract or owed the club money players would be granted there appeals.
so if thats the case, yoou may find he becomes a blood. also heard he wasnt that big on mark billings coaching. was there ever a fall out????

I think that when it comes to appeals unless the player owes the club money then the appeals board will clear the player. I was told that at the recent league meeting they discussed clearing players to other clubs in the league and people are pushing to put an end to the "tug of war" and basically just clear people that want to be cleared, not sure how successfull this will be but i doubt Huntly would be able to keep Manley on appeal he is leaving because his partner wants to play netball with her best friend who plays at elmore.
Schubert is still doing rehab on his ankle but he looked fit and strong last night and said his rehab is going very well.

There is a reason you haven't heard much on our new recruits - coz there isn't much to report "as yet". Supposedly there are 3 big signings TBA, but will believe that when they turn up to training! As for the appeals process - i am not 100% aware how they work anymore... So you maybe right there.

As for a fall-out - I don't beleive there has been any event that has caused any tension between those 2 and in fact late last year were actually pretty chummy off the field. I think BIG nick has decided he would like to play in a team that will go close to a flag (baring in mind he came from 3 straight flags...) But not sure going to a club in the same league is the way to go - i would understand if Billo was sh1tty with his decision, but i don't beleive there has been any words spoken between them too, actually from what i know, Nick does all his communicating to the club through Geary.
