What players in elmores line up would you classifly as sheep dogs big ump? Elmore are a team if you apply pressure and give them no space they go to water. Heathcote sound as if they did this for 3 quarters. Is it true in a few weeks Featherstone, Anderson, L Carrol, Chapman? and Saladino will be returning to heathcote just in time for finals?

Luke Carroll won't get back in time for the finals I wouldn't think.

Were u spent too old mate??? I called into the middle on me way thru and u were no where to be seen :p had a quick beer with a few of the boys who were hurting so dont think they weren't shattered about the fade out.

Seems u have quite a loyal band of BF readers following your posts, just wish they'd get out from behind their alias' and have a dip ;) Special hello to you Mr. Lomax, you seem to love ya Big Footy :thumbsu:

Must have just gone home, good to see the boy's drop in i was told you went home.

You forced me to tell u who r the Elmore sheep dog's...
Andrew Grant, Adam Williams, David Fevaleaki and can be a little snipper on the younger player's of the opposition,Everyone talk's about D Lock keep your eye on him when your side play's Elmore.
And the other sheep dog is Matt Nihill No 13...
You shut these player's down u r on the way to beating Elmore

I wouldn't have thought Elmore would have been noted as a team of sheep dogs in fact they have an abundance of mature thick set bodies across the board which was an area they troubled the Saints in. Number 13 would be Joe Cavallaro who played as a forward pocket so his role would be to spread and get by himself as much as possible.
Heathcote played poorly for the majority of the day as Elmore did but they cut loose with some hard running and better use of football in the last quarter to record a good win.

You still didn't answer my question Big Ump is it true these players will be returning in a few weeks Carrol from injury, featherstone and saldino from pioneers, Chapman from overseas, anderson from bombers and all will play finals

Tips to beating Elmore would be to be first in at the footy and kick more goals then them. Don't go too defensive

What about flooding the centre wicket area and keping the scoreline to 4-5 goals each :D Forecast is for big rains in the Mitchell Shire this week, Ive already had about 10ml in the guage tonight since it started about 6pm

Your on the mark Colbo man, Heathcote done this for 3 quarters give them no space.
They play old fashion football by keeping the ball moving forward and having players standing outside of pack's receiving the handball.
So to stop this you play them close and hard and fair.

To the player's you have mentioned i have no idea:thumbsu:

when will the day come that some people just accept that their side was beaten fairly and squarely how bout you stop makin excuses and admit that heathcote just weren't good enough as for the sniping it happens everywhere and if these younger players cant handle it dont play its been happening since day dot and its not going to stop!!!!!!!

I think big ump was asked to name the Elmore sheep dog's he did good on him.
And yes sniping happens everywere again good on him for saying what he saw. He was not the only one to see that player snipe the younger Heathcote player's
And yes they did stand their ground.

Well i guess its good on fev for doing it and getting away with it.

No Chapman, l, carrol only the minutest of chances but the rest are right. You can add tony ring, who was having a great year before his collar bone gave way, Brenton Jaques, who was just starting to get going at senior level, Jon Jess and Jake Harmen whose day ended 2 minutes into the first quarter. You have to make the finals before worrying about any of that though.

Mate i don't think you'll find any of the Heathcote boys complained about cheap shots, infact i think they really enjoyed a hard contest for three quarters. A supporter made the call and all supporters are entitled to their opinios.

Yes in the end Elmore were too good, fev got away with it and we move onto next week:thumbsu:

Well said streaking, I am a long time reader and first time poster. From what i've read the Big Ump must've been an absoloute champion in his day. I was at the Heathcote- Elmore game and i thought that Heathcote were great for three quarters but they just don't have the class to go with the likes of Elmore and Colbo. The game was always going to blow out, i just didn't think it would blow that far. It's the cream that rises and that's exactley what happened.
I spoke with a couple of old Heathcote supporters after the game on saturday and they informed me that the Big Ump used to get paint on his jumper when he played from rubbing against the fence, so no more talk of sheep dogs please big boy!:D
Good on Bundy, I hope he gets a flag. it would be nice to see someone besides Mounts or Colbo win one.

You d*ckhead. Matt Nihill plays in the back pocket in the twos. Has never played senoirs and isn't a sheep dog. You obviously have no idea about HDFL.

I can not accept that, they talk about all the youth in the side if they can not run out 4 quarter's they do not deserve to play final's....

Be honest they were not spent. They did not man up and as i said before they let Elmore sheep dog's run loose they cut H/Cote to piece's in the last quarter....

To say they were spent that is a poor excuse
An open letter to the HDFL thread of Big Footy Forum.

First of all, on behalf of myself, I don't always concur with the views put forward on this forum that are posted by the Big Ump. For example, his statement about Elmore's sheep dogs is not one I agree with as every side needs their four or five blokes who can hang out and get the easy kick to deliver to the blokes up the ground. Heathcotes problem for a long time is that they never had players like this, they only had the blokes who would be stupid enough to go and jump on a pack when that pack involved one, maybe two opposition players and already two or three Heathcote players. Just dumb football. Every side needs what the Ump would call a sheep dog, I should know I was called one many times when I was a young bloke.
Secondly, when you have no bench for the last quarter your options become somewhat limited, and players, at any level, young or old, get tired. People have told me that they thought Heathcote were always a good chance to get beaten after they saw the players at three quarter time and to have no interchange only makes it harder for any side. Onions, there probably is some merit in the excuse but it needs to be addressed starting this week.
Thirdly Ump, Elmore have recruited some great footballers for this standard of comp and good on them. It is a wake up call that our younger blokes need to take heed and improve themselves and their game over the coming years. Big bodied, fast on ballers is something that the club need to try and find over the Summer as well as a few more polished footballers. The grounding is there for a great side, just some more hard work recruiting wise.
Finally, to those who might doubt the Ump's credibility, don't because he is a champion bloke who could play both footy and cricket and generally knows what he is talking about. He is a passionate Heathcote man as all of you blokes are for your own clubs.

Just on the weekend, after all those mounts boys complaining about Jim Angove for not shaking hands, what about DIGGIDOG? After taken cheap shots in the game (punchig someone when they wernt looking) then when the final siren sounded he walked off while arguing to the umpires. Dunno how your brothers can be such quality blokes then theres you...... What happens on the field stays on the field, you shake hands and have a beer after the game.

Also Talking to a certain Colbo forward and he he said somthing about Irwin and a knee, mayb he just likes the room up the forward line so he could boot a lazy 10.

So well well well, talking more crap are we Nesko are we? Wasnt whinging to the umpires, just wanted to clarify the rule about bouncing the ball when we were still in our huddle, as a captain is well within his rights to do. I always thought the ump would blow his whistle and at least know he had the teams attention before bouncing the ball. As for the cheap shots cant recall any, just one incident where some fat locky kid, think he was wearing number 13 tried to line me up after play so i retaliated, to his face with a love tap/jumper punch to his chest! Remember Nesko your the same dill who reckons last year that Dalton hit Martin 8 times. That just shows your eyes are painted on. Your credibility is zilch. My brothers dont even know you Liar!! and didnt see you after the game at the beer shed where i spent all day with mounts and Locky guys alike.

Enough of the crap lads, eyes back on the fries - some big games this week.
Broadford v Elmore
Heathcote v Mt. Pleasant
White Hills v Huntly
North Bendigo v LBU

I know the Roos are given no hope against a rampant Elmore but the Heathcote vs Mounts clash and even the North/LBU game should create plenty of interest.

Back to some constructive HDFL talk hey :thumbsu:

Good on you bloke's it took a while to responed
That's given the forom a bit of interest it was getting a bit stale
Funny but did not get much comment's from the Elmore boy's maybe they might think iam correct
If you have got Saturdat's record N13 is Matt Nihill not me who got it wrong................

Nihilly plays backline in the 2s and I thought Willo was in the 2s aswell

I dont know your brothers personally but they are friends of friends. Surely you could talk to the umpires after you shake the opositons hands, as the captain you should lead by example. Love tap haha . Why would I goto the beer shed after the game when I was driving? I did go into the social rooms after the 1s though.

RWB half of this quote that you have wrote is Crap.
I have been reading big footy for a while now i enjoy reading big ump's quote's. All he is doing is bringing people into the forom's,so it will be interesting for any guest's from out side of the HDFL and members.
And some time's he is serious and when he is, he is spot on.
One last thing to RWB your favourite saying
YOU IDIOT:confused:

That's because you obviously have no idea what you are on about and your opinions aren't worth commenting on. I'd love to know who else you think is a sheep dog if you consider those mentioned to be in that category. All quality footballers. Also, i would say that many of Grants possessions are actually contested. But i suppose if your side couldn't keep him from getting his usual 40 touches a game you have to get at him somehow. You are an absolute idiot.
